Abducted Jaffna student detained by Uppuve’li police

A 17-year-old student from Jaffna staying with his relatives in Trincomalee was abducted first and then held under detention in Uppuve’li police station, according to complaint made by his parents with Human Rights Commission (HRC) Jaffna office Friday.

The abducted student is Mahendrarajah Prasath, a resident of Stanley Road in Jaffna.

Prasath who had gone to Colombo was staying with his relatives in Uppuve’li on his way back to Jaffna.

Prasath’s parents have appealed to HRC officials to help to have him released.
