LTTE announces casualty figures

The Liberation Tigers said today that eight of their members had been killed in clashes with the Sri Lankan Army (SLA) in the Vanni area during the period between February 12 and 14.

They said that five of them died yesterday in a clash with the SLA in the Mankulam area.

Following are the names the Tigers who died during a period of 3 days:

Muhilaharan (Manickarajah Thavarajah of Batticaloa)
Sayanthi (Sellathurai Nishanthi of Kilinochchi)
Ahavili (Rajenthiram Pushparani of Omanthai)
Ambihan (Kanthappodi Yogarasa of Batticaloa)
Poovalagan (Vallipuram Vigneswaran of Batticaloa)
Kunaram (Markandu Kulanthaivel of Batticaloa)
Paachcheelan (Veerasingam Pathmanathan of Batticaloa)
Gobikkumar (Amirthanathan Sylvester of Batticaloa).
