Youth abducted in Jaffna

Unidentified armed men on motor cycles forcibly took away a youth riding on his motor cycle near Kalladdi Pi’laiyaar Koayil in Jaffna Wednesday, according to the complaint registered with Jaffna Human Rights Commission office by his wife S. Sasibarathi.
The abducted youth is Ratnasingham Chandrakumar, 28, a building mason by profession and a resident of Aadiyapaatha Veethi in Kalviyangkaadu, Jaffna. The abduction took place near Jaffna University. Meanwhile, a Tamil youth admitted to Jaffna Teaching Hospital and sent to Colombo National Hospital for further treatment through Sri Lanka Red Cross (SLRC) on March 26 has been abducted by unidentified armed men in a white van in Colombo 14 April. The abducted youth is M. Prasath, 28, a resident of Vadamaraadchi. The armed men abducted Prasath when he went out with two hour permission from hospital authorities. Prasath had undergone surgical treatment at Colombo National Hospital.
