SLIC official reported missing in Jaffna

An officer of Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation (SLIC) Jaffna office has gone missing since Wednesday while returning home after duty along Kallu’ndaay Veethi in Jaffna, according to information given by his relatives to SLIC Jaffna office and Human Rights Commission (HRC) Jaffna office. Meanwhile, a family man from Achchuveali sought protection to his life in Jaffna Magistrate Court due to death threats, sources in Jaffna said.
The SLIC official gone missing is Nathachelvam Rajashanthan, 35, a resident of Moo’laay Veethi in Vaddukkoaddai. The staff of SLIC Jaffna office stopped working Thursday on hearing Rajashanthan gone missing. A media person of Sakthi TV had been killed some moths ago while travelling along Kallu’ndaay Veethi. Jaffna magistrate directed the police to place the person seeking protection to his life in the protective custody of Jaffna Prison.
