Tamil teacher shot dead in Vavu地atheevu

An unidentified armed man shot dead a Tamil teacher Wednesday morning at Kannankudaa Pi値値aiyaaradi area in Vavu地atheevu police division in Batticaloa district while he was cycling to his school located at Paavatkodichcheanai, sources in Batticaloa said.

The victim was identified as Balasingham Ravindrarajah, 32, police sources said.

Vavu地atheevu police rushed to the site and held initial investigation.

Later the victim痴 body was handed over to Batticaloa Teaching Hospital for inquest into death and postmortem examination to be held.
