Prof. S. Krishnarajah passes away in Colombo

Dean of the Faculty of Art in Jaffna University, Prof. S. Krishnarajah, admitted to a private hospital in Colombo recently passed away Friday, sources in Colombo said. Sixty-two-years old Prof. S. Krishnarajah has been serving in Jaffna University for the last 33 years.

Prof. Krishnarajah has greatly contributed to the growth and development in the faculties of Philosophy, Arts and Literature during his long service, Jaffna University Vice-chancellor, Prof. N. Shanmugalingan said in his tribute paid to the late professor.

Prof. S. Krishnarajah had qualified in disciplines including philosophy in the Universities of Peredeniya and Moscow and had actively served in inculcating knowledge in these fields to the students of Jaffna University.

The remains of late Prof. Krishnarajah lies in a funeral parlour in Colombo and it is not yet whether the remains will be brought to Jaffna.
