Jayalath Jayawardene, speaking after submitting the nomination list at Jaffna Secretariat Monday, said that all 29 UNP candidates are from Jaffna.

“The government should immediately take action to find a solution to the problem of the ‘Tamil minority’ in consultation with all the parties involved,” he said.

“If UNP is victorious in the election we will make Jaffna into one of the leading towns in the world,” he further said.

“President Mahinda Rajapakse say that all Tamils are his brothers and sisters and their children his children but his deeds do not confirm with what he says,” Jayalath Jayawardne said.

Jayalath Jayawardene arrived by plane to Jaffna Monday and attended to his business without any personal security arrangements, the sources said.
