Police demand UNP MP's surrender

Sri Lankan Police headquarters said this afternoon that a UNP member of Parliament for the Kandy district and three of the party's candidates for the central provincial council elections are wanted in connection with the attack on the PA meeting yesterday.

The Police HQ issued a report of the Senior Superintendent of Police for Gampola region .

"Regarding the killing of W.M Wimalasuriya of Ambalapitiya and injuring thirty one others by shooting and hurling hand grenades at Kurunthuwatha in Gampola area on 10/3/99 the following suspects are wanted to (sic) the Police and they are instructed to be surrendered (sic) to Gampola Police

station immediately.

1.Kandy District UNP MP A.R.M Abdul Cader

2.Three UNP candidates for the central provincial council elections i.e K.B.D Rambukkwella, Peter Gangagedera, Sisira Aluthgamage all of Gampola."
