Jaffna IDP voters can vote in Colombo

Registered voters of Jaffna Electoral District who are displaced
and living temporarily in and around Colombo can apply to the Department of Elections to cast their votes for the Presidential
elections at a polling station in the area they are now residing.
There is no need for them to go to Jaffna district to cast their
votes, the Commissioner of Elections Mr.Dayananda Dissanayake said. According to the Commissioner of Elections, the exhibition electoral
registers of the Jaffna Electoral district at the Wellawatte post
office began on Thursday to enable voters to obtain details for their
registration. Application forms could be obtained from the place where
the registers are exhibited, the Commissioner of Elections further
said.
