Rasiah Dwaraka, the Tamil female undergrad of the Arts Faculty of the Peradeniya
University arrested by the CID officials while she was in the lecture
hall attending class in November last year is found held in Boosa
detention camp, according to Upul Premaratne, Convener of the Inter
University Students Federation (IUSF). She was earlier a resident of
Kilinochchi.
The CID took her into custody from Peradeniya University on a
report that she was involved in terrorist activity. The police allowed her parents to meet her in Boosa detention camp
following the representation made by IUSF. However the police did not allow the representatives of the IUFS to meet her in Boosa detention camp, IUSF
convener said. Udul Premaratne, Convener of the IUSF told Colombo media that the
police had earlier refused to acknowledge that the
undergrad was in their custody, but later said she was in their
custody for her involvement with the LTTE. Her parents held in IDP camps in Vavuniyaa were now allowed to go free, he said.
