[TamilNet, Friday, 26 February 2010, 19:44 GMT]
Unidentified persons threw stones continually, attacking the office of Tamil National Alliance (TNA) former parliamentarian Suresh Premachandran Friday night causing damage to the tiles and windows of the office, sources in Jaffna said. The office is located at the entrance of Sri Lanka Army (SLA) 512 Division on Point Pedro road in Jaffna where there is 24-hour presence of SLA and the police, the sources further said.

Suresh Premachandran’s office was attacked during the recent presidential elections too.

The attack took place on the night of the last day of submitting nominations for the forthcoming parliamentary election a matter which has caused concern among residents of the area.

The police when informed of the attack came to the office to inquire into the attack and went back without offering any security arrangement, the sources added.

The attack has raised fear and anxiety among the TNA candidates contesting parliamentary election in Jaffna district electorate.
