[TamilNet, Tuesday, 19 April 2011, 03:33 GMT]
Cadres of the para military group led by Pilliayan, who is the chief minister of the Eastern Provincial Council, assaulted a former cadre, Seenithamby Pakkiyarajah, 38, severely injuring him Sunday, sources in the east said. Pakkiyarajah was admitted to the Ka'luvaagnchikkudi Government Hospital. Pakkiyarajah had recently joined the para-military group led by Vinayagamoorthy Muralidharan alias Karuna, who is now a Deputy Minister in the Mahinda Rajapakse government. The Ka'luvaagnchikkudi police have so far arrested two suspects in this regard.

Twelve cadres of Pilliayan paramilitary group with pistols and other weapons had forcibly entered the house of Seenithamby Pakkiyarajah located along Main Road in Maangkaadu on Sunday night and attacked him.

Pakkiyarajah had provided the number of the motor cycle used by the gang and made a complaint to the Ka'luvaagnchikkudi police.

According to reports the injured Pakkiyarajah had contested the Manmunai South Eruvilpaththu Pratheasa Sabai on the TMVP ticket and was appointed chairman of the PS. Later he resigned from the TMVP and joined the para military group led by Deputy Minister Karuna. TMVP promptly expelled Pakkiyarajah and appointed a new person as Chairman of the PS.

It is alleged that TMVP cadres had attacked Pakkiyarajah for working against TMVP.
