Three Jaffna civilians missing

Three Tamil persons have "disappeared" in the Jaffna peninsula on June 9 and 10,according to complaints made to the Human Rights Commission, Jaffna Unit. Relatives of the disappeared persons have made these complaints, Commission sources said.
On June 9, some persons went to the house of Nagarajah Sivapatham(19) and took him for questioning. Thereafter Nagarajah Sivapathan did not return home. Relatives believe he was taken in for interrogation by Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldiers, according to complaints lodged at the Human Rights Commission. On the same day, seventy year old Aththanas Nalliah was also disappeared. He had been employed at the Bishop's House in Jaffna. On the day of incident as usual he set out for work. Thereafter he had failed to return home. On June 10 (today) morning, SLA troops arrested Rasaratnam Sathiaseelan in his house at Jamuna Veethi, Jaffna. Residents in the area suspect he has been detained in the Ariyalai army camp for questioning.
