More than seven human skeleton remains were unearthed by a team of medical officials in Nedunth-theevu (Delft) island on Friday in a land belonging to Assistant Government Agent's office. The skeletons are believed to be 20 - 30 years old. Earlier, the Sri Lanka Navy had stationed in the premises for several years.

7 human skulls were among the unearthed skeletons.

A building contractor from south, who was engaged in construction work had found the skeletons and informed the Sri Lankan Police.

Oorkaaval-thu'rai (Kayts) Magistrate Joy Mahadewa and Judicial Medical Officer of Jaffna Dr. S. Sivarubhan visited the scene with the help of villagers and have unearthed the human remains.

The remains are to be sent to Colombo for forensic investigations.
