Batticaloa residents perturbed over new interrogations - TNA MP

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 06 September 2011, 16:56 GMT]
Batticaloa district parliamentarian of Tamil National Alliance, P. Ariyanenthiran told media Tuesday that he had received complaints from many families across the district that the occupying Sri Lanka Army had begun harassing the families of ex-LTTE members. The civilians are highly perturbed due to the ongoing interrogation of former LTTE members, the MP told media.

The occupying Sri Lanka Army has been visiting the homes of former LTTE members who had returned to normal life as far back as 20 years ago in 1990.

The harassment by the SLA has caused panic among the family members in addition to the prevailing threat by the SL ‘grease devils’, Mr. Ariyanenthiran said.

The SLA subjects the ex-Tiger cadres who have wound marks in their body for special investigations, taking them to SLA camps in nights for interrogation, the parliamentarian cited complaints from the family members of former LTTE members.
