Forty LTTE casualties - SLA

Sri Lankan army sources said that they have recovered the bodies of 40 Liberation Tigers killed in the fighting yesterday. They said that arrangements are being made to hand over the bodies to the Liberation Tigers, through the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC).
Meanwhile the Razeek Group claimed that a member of the Liberation Tigers was killed in an ambush near Thalavai, north of Batticaloa this morning. Razeek group sources said that they recovered a pistol, a grenade and a number plate from the dead person. A Razeek group cadre, Saba, was wounded in the incident, they added. Hospital sources said that the Razeek group members had brought the body of a youth with gunshot wounds in the head and chest.
