Arrangements made for examinations

Mr. S.P.Thamilchelvan, the leader of the Political section of the LTTE held a discussion with the head of the ICRC and UNHCR delegations at Mallavi, in Vanni, at around 10.00p.m. last night, said the VoT in its night new bulletin.
The radio further said that Mr. Thamilchelvan had asked the delegates to make the necessary arrangements for the transportation of question papers and patients that took place this morning. Meanwhile, according to the VoT, the question papers reached Mallavi at around 7.00 p.m. this evening. Mr.Kurukularajah, the Zonal Director of Education in Mullaithivu said today at Mallavi that the GCE A/L examination will commence in the Vanni as scheduled tomorrow. Mr. Kurukularajah further said that arrangements have been made to distribute admission cards to school candidates this evening. Private candidates have been asked to collect their admission cards at pre arranged centres in the morning tomorrow. According to S.Pon Sabapathy, the Co-ordinator for the Northeast Provincial Council Education Ministry, the demonstration and picketing campaigns conducted by University Students in Batticaloa, Jaffna, Vavuniya and Colombo and the Senior School students of Vavuniya pressurised the rush of admission cards and examination papers today.
