A human skull was found by diggers in the village of Munai on the coast of Pt.Pedro in Jaffna yesterday residents in the area said. According to them there was a Sri Lanka army camp at the spot where the skull was discovered yesterday.

They said that Anthony Vincent Mariyanayagam was digging a well in his compound when the skull was found at the depth of about ten feet around 11 a.m.

The digging was stopped as a consequence. Neighbours said that Mariyanayagam has not reported the matter to the authorities out of fear but has left the skull at the local cemetery.

A resident of Munai who inspected the skull said that its teeth were largely intact.
