Recruitment drive in Batticaloa

The Sri Lanka Army (SLA) has called on the youth of Valaichenai, Ottamaavadi and Vaakarai divisions of the Batticaloa District join its ranks. The SLA called for youths who have passed grade eight at school to attend walk in interviews to be held at its 23-2 Brigade Head Quarters in Valaichenai Paper factory.

Interviews will be held from tomorrow till the end of this month.

Colonel Alwis of the 23-2 Brigade HQ called the Divisional Secretaries to a meeting on Monday and asked them inform youths in their respective divisions about the recruitment drive.

The SLA's similar recruitment drive earlier have lack-lustre results said SLA sources.
