Four LTTE casualties

The Voice of Tigers (VoT) radio said in its transmission last night that two LTTE members died in the attack on Special Task Force (STF) in Ampara on Wednesday. Six STF personnel were also killed in the attack.
The radio gave their names as: Major Sivaprakasam or Rajah (Thiayaagarathinam Gangatharan of Batticaloa) and Lt.Jaathagaraj (Murugupillai Vairamuthu of Batticaloa). The Tigers recovered following weapons from the STF, according to the radio: M16 A2 - 01

Medium rounds - 350 The VoT further said that two LTTE members died in separate clashes with the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) on Thursday and Friday at Suddathivu and Mullaithivu. On Friday Kadalarasan (Aarockiyam Pulenthirarajah of Jaffna) died in a direct confrontation with SLA in the Mullaitivu district, and Siva (Tharmalingam Raj of Mulliyawalai), died in a clash with the SLA on Thursday, the radio said. Meanwhile police sources said the LTTE member who was killed yesterday at Thavsikulam has been identified as Gurusamy Sivaloganathan (24) of Iranai Iluppaikulam, living at Laksapana Road Thonikkal in VavuniyaVauniya. His body is kept at the Vavuniya hospital., the sources added. The civilian who was killed in this incident has been identified as Muthiah Sivakumar (49), a displaced from Nedunkerni. He was living at Thiruvalluvar Road at Thonikkal, hospital sources said. His body has been handed over to his relatives.
