Explosives found in van - Police

The Sri Lankan Police in Badulla, 230 kilometres east of Colombo, said that they discovered about 20 kilograms of explosives hidden inside the spare wheel of a van last night.
Police sources said that four Tamils from Batticaloa, including a woman were arrested in connection with the detection. The explosives were found on an estate in the Madulsima sector in Badulla. A group of Special Task Force (STF) had joined the Police in the raid that had led to the detection of the explosives sources said. The Badulla Police claimed that the four arrested persons were be members of the Liberation Tigers. The woman, according to them, is Devi Akka whom they claimed is an explosives expert. Two detonators and a timing device were also found with the explosives the Police said.
