One of them, Subramaniam Thevan alias Theepan was arrested at the Anuradhapura hospital. He is currently detained at the hospital and will be handed over to the Vavuniya police for further investigations, sources said.

Two others, Malli and Wimal, were arrested at Bambalapitiya today, while they were on their way to Delmon Private hospital at Wellawatte for treatment as advised by the hospital authorities to come to the Out Patients Department (OPD) for treatment.

They had previously received treatment for the injuries at the Delmon Hospital and were discharged from the wards.

Sources said that they are now being detained at Bambalapitiya Police and will be sent to Vavuniya for inquiries.

Adaikalanathan Selvam, the Leader of TELO and the Member of Parliament for Vanni district, said that it is unfair to arrest them who had nothing to do with the grenade attack which was done by the LTTE.

The TELO leader further said that he had requested the authorities concerned to release his arrested members immediately.
