Detainees transferred to Colombo

Eight detainees, including a husband and his wife, held at the Kankesanthurai special detention centre in Jaffna have been transferred to Kalutara Prison, south of Colombo, for further investigations, said sources.

They have been identified as Sinnathamby Vigneswaran, his wife, Ajanthini, Selvaratnam Sivaroopan, Navaratnam Kodeeswaran, Ponnan Uthayakumar, Thavasi Nallamma, Thevarajan Reginold and S. Thevathasan.

The Human Rights Commission in Jaffna released following names as being people who are currently detained at the Kankesanthurai detention centre:

Iyathurai Paskaran, of Kudaththanai north, Sellathurai Senthuran, Anandarajah Arulthas, Selvanayagam Sukanthan of Navalar road; Jaffna, Periyan Navaratnarajah of Punnaalaikkadduvan south.

Meanwhile Sri Lanka Army arrested on Tuesday, 26 October, Krishnapillai Vijeyakumar of Pt.Pedro and Thambiaiyaa Kanthasamy, 55, of Inuvil said sources.
