Two arrested, three 'missing' in Jaffna

Two young men have been arrested by the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) in Jaffna, while three others have been reported missing, according to complaints made by their relatives at the Human Rights Commission in the northern town.
Kunarasa Mohan, 31, of Maylankadhu in Erlarlai was arrested on January 28 by soldiers from Urelu SLA camp, and Amirthasakaran Arulrexan, 30, of Old Park Road was arrested by soldiers from 51-2 Brigade, according to the complaints received by the HRC. Meanwhile, two young women from Kodikamam - Sujitha Ariyaratnam, 22, and Mohanakanthi Nadarasa, 20, have been reported missing since 11 January. The women went to a shop and failed to return home, the relatives reported. In another incident, a 19 year-old-youth, Jenad Nimalraj, of Mount Carmal Road in Jaffna has been reported mission since 1 February.
