Tigers advance towards Pallai -radio

The fighting units of the Liberation Tigers engaged operation in "Unceasing Waves 3" have advanced one and a half km. from Puthukadu junction towards Pallai, the Voice of Tigers (VoT) radio said in its noon news broadcast Friday.

Pallai is about 3 km. north of Puthukadu junction on the A9 highway.

The radio said ferocious fighting continued till 7 p.m. Thursday and that several Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldiers were killed.

The radio also gave the names of three LTTE members killed in the fighting.

They are:

Aruchchunan (Kanagaratnam Ravikumar of Mannar)
Ahilarasi (Sivalingam Priyadharsini of Mulliyawalai)
Sinnavan (Arumugam Rajendran of Kandy -Member of Border Force)
