Two civilians identified as Viswalingam and Ariyanayagam were killed and eighteen wounded in heavy bombing by Kfirs this morning on the village of Maravanpulavu, southwest of Chavakachcheri, this morning around 11 a.m. according to night news broadcast of the Voice of Tigers Friday. A young mother, Sivanesan Annaimary, and her infant son were killed when shells fired by the Sri Lanka army hit their house in Madduvil Sivankovilady this morning the VoT said.

The radio also interviewed the warden and several inmates of the elder's home in Kaithady which was hit by shelling on May 19. Fifteen were killed and 31 wounded in the home, Santhy Nilayam.

The warden, Mary Lourdes Gnanaprakasam, described the carnage and said that the Sri Lanka army had fired the shells on the elder's home. The inmates said that shells fire by the SLA had severely damaged several wards of the home. They too described the deaths and injuries when the home was hit by a volley of heavy artillery fire. They told the interviewer that they had nowhere to go and hence were exposed to SLA shelling.
