Final results of polls released

Sri Lanka's Commissioner of Elections Wednesday officially announced the results of the elections to Parliament following the delay in the counting of votes in the Kandy district where widespread rigging was reported.
According to the final figures released by him the People's Alliance (PA) has 107 seats, the United National Party (UNP) 89, the JVP 10, the Tamil United Liberation Front (TULF) 5, National Unity Alliance (NUA) 4, Eelam People's Democratic Party (EPDP) 4, Tamil Eelam Liberation Organisation (TELO) 3 and the All Ceylon Tamil Congress (ACTC) 1, Independent group II Digamadulla (EPDP) 1.
