GA accused of misusing funds

Two Jaffna MPs K. Rameswaran and K. Ramamoorthy accused the Jaffna Government Agent (G.A) Mr. K. Shanmuganathan today, for mis-using five million rupees (85,000 US $). The funds were allocated for various projects in Jaffna under the decentralised budget for the members of parliament for the year 1997.

The MPs said they had raised the matter with the G.A and had found that funds had been misused for purposes other than the projects they were ear-marked for.

The President will be informed about this matter, said the MPs.
