Mutur LTTE political office destroyed

A group of unidentified persons beleived to be members of an auxiliary force destroyed the Mutur political office of the Liberation Tigers Friday evening around seven, residents said. At that time of the attack, the LTTE office had been closed for the day. Tension prevails in the Mutur town following the attack, residents said.

The gang, which arrived at the Alaiyaddy junction in the Mutur town where the LTTE office is located had forcibly entered the building and damaged the furniture and other things which were inside the office. The gang then left the place after about half an hour, sources added.

The LTTE Trincomalee district office has informed the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission in Trincomalee about the attack on its Muttur political office.

The Police arrived at the scene around eight p.m. to conduct investigations.
