[TamilNet, Monday, 30 December 2002, 16:50 GMT]
Sri Lanka police have taken steps to set up camps in government buildings in Nedunthivu, an islet in Jaffna district, while the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) increased its control over the civilian movement to the village by sea, sources said.
The SLN and Police still refuse to allow outsiders to enter Nedunthivu without their permit since the landing of members of the para military group Eelam Peoples Democratic party (EPDP). Nedunthivu village is under
the control of the SLN for more than ten years, sources said. The SLN issue passes to people who produce residential address in Nedunthivu to enter the village. Meanwhile, Police have
commandeered the office building of the Nedunthivu divisional secretariat to establish a camp, sources said.
