The Sri Lanka Army (SLA) Friday ordered the members of the Liberation Tigers
of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) who go to villages Amban, Kudathanai and Manalkadu in the Vadamarachchi east division to leave the area by four in the evening daily,
civilians sources said.
The army imposed this condition after a recent
incident where members of the vigilant committee nabbed two SLA
soldiers hiding behind a house in Kudathanai, sources said. LTTE cadres who wanted to stay in these villages should inform their names
of the chief occupants of the houses and other details to the nearby army
camps, SLA has further instructed, sources said. Meanwhile, army personnel have started collecting details of the houses and
names of household members where LTTE cadres stay overnight, villagers said.
