LTTE hands over soldier's body to ICRC

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Sunday afternoon handed over the body
of the soldier of the Sri Lanka Army L. Dharmadasa (24) of Matale who was killed Saturday in gunfire at Kilali area held by the LTTE, to the Jaffna delegate of the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC), sources said.
Mr. Arivu of LTTE participated at the handing over event that took place in the no man zone at Muhamalai. The ICRC delegate immediately transported the body of the deceased soldier to Palaly military base, sources said. Meanwhile, the Chavakachcheri Magistrate Mr.K.Ariyanayagam Sunday visited the army checkpoint at Muhamalai and held inquiries into the shooting
incident, legal sources said.
The Kodikamam Police led the evidence. The Magistrate instructed the
Judicial Medical Officer, Colombo to conduct autopsy on the body of the
deceased soldier, legal sources said.
