The President of the Trincomalee Rotary Club, Mr.R.Thirukumaranathan, as the
chief guest, and the Club's Secretary, Mr.S.Jeyashankar, as the guest of honour. Mr.Jeyshankar said that due to lack of better understanding between various
communities, the progress of the country had been set back. Mr.Thirukumaranathan said in his speech that this year's Rotary motto is
"sow the seeds of love." The next year's theme will be "lend a hand with
love". "We must serve the people with love." The Rotary Movement has established Interact clubs as its student wing
below eighteen years of age. The aim is to instill in the minds of younger
generation the urgent need of the leadership quality and to prepare them to
face the challenges ahead when they become future leaders, the former
President of the Trincomalee Rotary Club, Mr.P.Thirumugam, said. |
