Col. Karuna returns to Batticaloa

The LTTE’s special commander for the Eastern Region, Col. Karuna, returned to Batticaloa Friday from Japan, where he participated in the sixth round of peace talks between the Government of Sri Lanka and the LTTE, sources said.

He arrived in a special helicopter at 9:30 am at the Palugamam Kandumani Maha Vidyalayam and was warmly welcomed by the LTTE’s commanders and political leaders for Batticaloa-Ampara, sources said.
