LTTE to commemorate capture of Elephant Pass

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam will commemorate the capture three years ago of the Elephant Pass garrison from the Sri Lankan military on April 28, sources in Vanni said.

The planned celeberations will include commemoration ceremonies, military parades of several LTTE divisions, exhibitions of military hardware and speeches by senior commanders of the LTTE.

The Voice of Tigers Radio Tuesday broadcast a special all-day program to mark the day (April 22) the garrison was captured. The program included details of the LTTE’s attack on the garrison, commemoration speeches, poetry, drama and music, the sources said.
