Self-employment training center opened in Vakarai

"Our senior commander Karuna is determined to organize development projects that would provide immediate self-employment and economic benefits to our people living in war affected areas. This sewing training center is being opened on his direction," said LTTE military commander of Aandan Kulam, V. Regi, opening the Lt. Chandra Training center in Kandaladi, Vakarai, Wednesday, said sources.
Batticaloa-Amparai head of LTTE administration, Reginald, presided the event. Commander Prabha, Batticaloa-Amparai leader of the women's political wing, Premini, and several other commanders and leading citizens participated in the opening ceremony. "Our people in this district should cooperate and take initiative to use the facilities in this training center to improve their skills and aspire to become self-reliant and reach economic independence," said Regi. The training center was named in memory of Late Lt. Chandra and is equipped with fifty new sewing machines.
