The Norwegian head of Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) Major General Triggve Tellefsen Sunday held a one hour long discussion with the Trincomalee district area military commander of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Colonel Pathuman at the LTTE's office at Sampur in the LTTE controlled area, SLMM sources said.

The discussion centred around the Kurankupanchan issue where the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) claims that the LTTE is establishing a new camp.

LTTE claims that the SLA is attempting to enter area controlled by it, sources said.

Soon after the ceasefire agreement came into force the LTTE submitted a report to the SLMM regarding the areas that are under their control in the Trincomalee district. In that report Kurankupanchan area has also been included, LTTE sources said

The discussion between the SLMM head and LTTE military commander in Trincomalee Colonel Pathuman was cordial and constructive, said Mr.Abdel Fattah Burkan, head of the SLMM in Trincomalee who participated in the discussion with his deputy Mr. Kurt Spur.

LTTE Trincomalee district political head Mr.Thilak and political activist Mr. Rajesh attended the discussion with Colonel Pathuman, sources said.
