Teachers, MPCS officials meet LTTE in Batticaloa

Teachers from Kiran, Koralaipattu from Batticaloa district met
with officials from the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) at
the Karadianaaru Thenaham Guest House Friday 7pm to discuss
matters relating to education in their district, sources said.
LTTE's Head of Education, Varathan, presided the meeting.
LTTE's Senior Commander, Karuna, Head of Batticaloa district Political Wing of the LTTE, Kausalyan, LTTE Women's Wing Special Commander, Nilavini,
LTTE military commander, Thaatha, LTTE's Head of Finance Kuganesan,
Head of Rehabilitation, Thurai represented the LTTE in the
discussions.
District Secretary, Vasuki, S.P.Viswanathan and several teachers
from Kiran participated in the discussions.
Matters related to the Educational planning for the future,
development of Schools and establishment of a Teachers Commission
were discussed in the meeting, according to sources who
attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, officials from the Batticaloa Multi-Purpose Co-operative Society (MPCS) met with LTTE officers at the Thenaham Guest House
10am Saturday with Head of Political section of the LTTE, Kausalyan,
presiding the meeting.
LTTE's Special Commanders Ramesh, Prabha, Head of LTTE Adminstration, Reginald, Head of LTTE Finance Section, Kuganesan, and several officials
of the MPCS participated in the meeting.
The discussions centered on exploring ways to strengthen and to
expand the services offered by the MPCS to Batticaloa residents,
sources said.
