Colombo intensifies military surveillance on Eezham Tamils

The occupying military establishment of genocidal Sri Lanka has tightened its military intelligence grip on Eezham Tamils deploying various tactics within the last few days in Batticaloa, Trincomalee, Mullaiththeevu, Ki’linochchi, Jaffna and Mannaar, according to reports coming from all the corners of the occupied country of Eezham Tamils. Fresh deployments of so-called ‘Special Task Force’ commandos, a full-fledged combat military administratively coming under SL Police has been silently moved into several locations in the Jaffna peninsula ‘integrating’ SL military intelligence in a sophisticated manner. There are also fresh attempts to acquire lands for intelligence outfits being expanded in Jaffna. In the meantime, several new tactics are being deployed by the SL military intelligence in other parts of the Tamil homeland.

Families associated with LTTE in past face constant threats from Colombo’s Intel squads

Intelligence operatives of the occupying Sinhala military of genocidal Sri Lanka have not yielded from brutally suppressing Eezham Tamils who were earlier associated with the Tamil freedom movement and its civil infrastructure. The SL military, police and their intelligence outfits continue to harass those who are not willing to become their stooges in the occupied country of Eezham Tamils. People who politely decline to collaborate are threatened with planted evidence such as narcotics. On 29 November, a 47-year-old mother of four, whose husband was a former Tamil Eelam Police officer, narrated her experience to the so-called ‘National Peace Council’, a Colombo-based peace group, how her family was being threatened by the military squads. At a meeting held in Jaffna, retired Judge L. Vasanthasenan was almost ‘cross-examining’ the traumatized woman on behalf of the Colombo-based outfit.

Tamil village confronting demographic genocide remembers victims of 1984 massacre in Vanni

The Tamil village of Othiyamalai, situated in Odduchuddaan Division of Mullaiththeevu district, is unable to confront the demographic-genocide taking place at the moment as SL President Maithiripala Sirisena is targeting to Sinhalicise the village and settle Sinhala colonisers linking the village with already Sinhalicised Ma’nal-aa’ru (Weli-Oya). More than 110 Tmail families were living in the village before they were subjected to a brutal massacre on December 02, 1984, in which 32 males were slain by the SL military. Only around 50 families have managed to resettle in 2012 and they have been remembering their slain family members each year at the rural society building, where the massacre took place.

PPT, Peoples’ verdict and Eezham Tamil Heroes

If there was any meaningful international investigation conducted on the genocide of Eezham Tamils, identifying the ultimate culprits, that was the proceedings in two sittings undertaken by the Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal (PPT) in 2010 and 2013. The PPT has identified the USA, the UK and India as ultimately responsible. The justice has not come in procedural ways from the United Nations or from the deliberations of outfits like the Commonwealth – all manipulated by the very same ultimate culprits and their bandwagon. But, justice has come in unique ways by peoples of the said countries sharply denouncing the paradigm on which their Establishments were riding on so far. In 2016, Eezham Tamils remembering the day of their heroes, who basically defied the paradigm, have every reason to have the feeling of vindication.

University of Jaffna commemorates Tamil Eelam Heroes

Delivering a sharp message against the threats coming from armed Sinhala policemen of genocidal Sri Lanka, who stormed the hostel premises in the early hours of Wednesday and warned the students not to mark Tamil Eelam Heroes Day, the entire University on Friday confluenced at Kailaasapathy Hall commemorating Tamil Eelam Heroes Day. Academics and students, including Muslim and Sinhala students, took part in the memorial event lighting candles in front of the symbol of Kaarthikaip-poo, the flower declared by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam as the national flower of Tamil Eelam. Photos celebrating the life of LTTE Leader Veluppillai Pirapaharan and posters paying tribute to fallen Tamil Eelam Heroes were put up at several places. The move, planned in total silence, was quickly mobilised as the students wanted to mark it before the weekend this year.

Colombo's military, police threaten grassroots not to mark Tamil Eelam Heroes’ Day

The occupying Special Task Force (STF) commandos, trained once by the British and who are complicit in the crime of genocide, crime against humanity and war-crimes have been threatening the public in Batticaloa, particularly in villages situated between Aaraip-pattai (Aaraiyam-pathi) and Ka'luvaagnchik-kudi, that there was a ban of gathering in force between November 20 and November 30. In the meantime, SL Minister Rajitha Senaratne went on record stating that the SL military ‘would be dealing with’ those marking Tamil Heroes Day on November 27. The SL ministers have been instructed by SL Commander-in-Chief and President Maithiripala Sirisena to propagate a message that honouring war-dead LTTE members was harmful to ‘reconciliation’.

SL Navy declares war on Tamil fishermen in Arippu, Sinhala police joins SLN

Tension has mounted in the fishing village of Arippu throughout Wednesday as the Sinhala commanding officer of the occupying SL Navy in Arippu and Chilaavaththu'rai vowed to revenge the spontaneous public action on a criminal Sinhala navy person on Tuesday night. The SL Navy person, who entered a household threatening a woman around 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday was caught and beaten up by the villagers. The remaining three members of the four-member squad have managed to escape from the villagers. The squad has been engaged in a series of robberies and misconduct causing injuries to the villagers in recent days. The squad is alleged of stabbing a husband and wife 5 days ago and robbed off gold from another family after putting a knife on the throat of a child 8 days ago, the villagers told TamilNet. The SLN person was caught red-handed on Tuesday and he was in possession of two knives.

NPC Councillor initiates action to assist Muslim political prisoner’s family

Northern Provincial Council member Ms Ananthy Sasitharan has come forward to facilitate assistance to Ms Segu Mohaideen Noorjan, a mother of three and the wife of a Muslim political prisoner after the latter made an open plea for assistance to fight for the release of her husband and to help her cover the expenses for the education of her children. “There should be a collective political decision on the part of the Sri Lankan State and its leaders to release all the political prisoners. I have therefore chosen to facilitate initial assistance for Ms Noorjahan’s family to sustain its livelihood,” Ms Ananthy Sasitharan told TamilNet on Sunday adding that she had promised to facilitate assistance to enable Ms Noorjan to do farming on her own.

Colombo stands further exposed by contradictory messages from SL President, Foreign Minister

Monk sets ablaze Hindu temple as Maithiripala proclaims ‘Buddhist Sri Lanka’ at UN

A Sinhala Buddhist monk from the so-called ‘Pashana Pabbatha Rajamaha viharaya’, which has been put up with a Sinhala name in the occupied Tamil village of Kalladi in the Eastern province by occupying Colombo after 2009, set ablaze the building of a Madam (mutt) of Malai-neeli-Amman temple (the dark goddess of the hill) on Tuesday. It happened within a week after the SL President Maithiripala Sirisena addressed the UN General Assembly in New York claiming the island as a Buddhist country. Eechchilam-patttai (Verukal) is the south most coastal Tamil division in the Trincomalee district bordering Batticaloa and was under the de-facto Tamil Eelam civil administration during the times of the LTTE. The division is now facing Sinhala-Buddhist occupation from Seruvila and Welikanda. Sirisena's ‘Mahaweli’ ministry is spearheading the structural genocide in the area.

Sin of US, UN in Eezham War sets paradigm for Russia in Syrian War

15,000 Tamils attend historic uprising in Jaffna, reject Unitary Constitution, ITAK draws flak

The Ilankai Thamizh Arasuk Kadchi (ITAK) with a hijacked leadership and the powers operating it, received a serious message from the people at the grassroots, regardless of the organisers of the event, that the people on the ground are fully prepared to replace the ITAK hierarchy once a good leadership takes shape to lead the nation of Eehzam Tamils in the next phase of their struggle. ‘Reconciliation prospects’ look as grim as ever: Rev Fr Mangalarajah

SL Intelligence sabotages NPC-organised medical inspections on ex-LTTE members

SL Military Intelligence operatives, clad in civil clothes, have been deployed inside the premises of the hospitals in the five districts of Northern Province. The occupying Sinhala military has increased its surveillance on former LTTE members, who were coming for medical inspections, especially after allegations of suspicious injections or unauthorised medicine given to them under the genocidal custody of the SL military during the so-called ‘military rehabilitation’. The medical authorities in North have made arrangements for the former LTTE members to start medical inspections according to a publicly announced schedule in each district. This has made it more easier for the SL military to identify and harass those who appear for medical inspections, the sources further said.

Maharaja TV promotes genocidal military culture through ‘welfare’ projects in North-East

MTV Channel Private Ltd, the largest private media operator in the island, is actively promoting the military of genocidal Sri Lanka through it in ‘community welfare projects’ in the occupied Tamil homeland. The Shakthi media, operated by the MTV Channel, has been waging a propaganda campaign of ‘caring for people’ through its TV and FM channels and has launched a ‘secretariat’ to manage the controversial ‘project’, media sources said. Colombo's desecration of Tamil Heroes Cemetery comes to light as SLA vacates Kanakapuram

The occupying SL military destroyed Tamil War Heroes Cemetery (Maaveerar Thuyilum Illam) at Kanakapuram in Ki’linochchi in January 2009, desecrating the buried bodies of Tamil fighters in an inhumane manner and bulldozing all the tombstones. Hundreds of destroyed tombstones were used as stones for SL military driveways in the occupied Ki’linochchi. In 2013, as the people started to resettle, the elected Divisional Council of Karaichchi division resolved to transform the destroyed Heroes Cemetery into a park as the 10-acres land was originally a property of the civic body. Within a few days of the declaration, the SL military fenced off the lands to block the move and deployed the area for military use. Last week, the SL military finally vacated from the grounds and reporters were able to witness the extent of desecration and destruction caused by the SL military.
