Unrest in Tamil Nadu following Colombo’s death sentence to 5 fishermen

[TamilNet, Friday, 31 October 2014, 18:15 GMT]
0As Hindutva New Delhi’s partnership with genocidal Sri Lanka gathers momentum and reaches a stage of jointly aiming intimidation and destabilisation of Tamil Nadu, Colombo’s high court on Thursday delivered death sentence to five Tamil Nadu fishermen arrested in 2011 on charges of smuggling drugs, political observers in Chennai said. Following the sentence, widespread protests engulf Tamil Nadu, where Tamil fishermen face decades-long arrests, attacks, loss of property and death in the hands of the Navy of genocidal Sri Lanka. While death sentence itself is universally controversial, the government, law-enforcement agencies and judiciary in the genocidal State themselves don’t have any credibility at all, the observers further said.

Waging struggle with self-respect amidst Delhi-Colombo engineering

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 28 October 2014, 21:00 GMT]
Earlier this month, re-inaugurating Colombo’s railway line to the occupied North, Mahinda Rajapaksa and the genocide line’s mastermind New Delhi, staged a ‘development’ show in Jaffna. On the same occasion, Rajapaksa also unveiled Colombo’s plans on converting the Nedun-theevu (Delft) Island off Jaffna and close to Tamil Nadu in the Palk Bay, into a Sinhala-Buddhist colony and military-commercial centre. While a leaked letter of the NPC chief minister Wigneswaran was harping on the functional unworkability of the NPC and the question of funds as well as the right over land in the province, more importance should be given to directly addressing and openly denouncing the fundamental policy line and master strategies of New Delhi, commented Tamil activists for alternative politics.

Colombo-New Delhi fundamentalism and US twist of national question

[TamilNet, Thursday, 23 October 2014, 23:37 GMT]
Genocidal Sri Lanka’s Bodu Bala Sena (BBS), a Sinhala-Buddhist fundamentalist organisation, has been received by India’s RSS, a partner in the ‘Hindutva’ Establishment in New Delhi, for ‘high level’ discussions to create a ‘Buddhist-Hindu’ alliance in South Asia, media reports said earlier this month. Obviously, the prime target of this move is the nation of Tamil-speaking people in the island, who are Saiva-Hindu, Christian and Muslim. While eyebrows are raised in several quarters over the unholy alliance, which is imperialist on one hand and genocidal on the other, many fail to see that the unfolding scenario is also effected by the USA twisting the Tamil national question in the island into a question of ‘religious minorities’, commented Tamil activists for alternative politics.

Genocidal Sri Lanka bans ‘foreigners’ visiting occupied Tamil Eelam

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 15 October 2014, 17:26 GMT]
Colombo has banned ‘foreigners’ from visiting the island’s former war zone without permission to prevent ‘negative interventions’, media reports said on Wednesday, citing a statement of Colombo’s defence ministry run by SL presidential sibling Gotabhaya Rajapaksa. The move primarily targets the Eezham Tamil diaspora having the citizenship of various countries of the West and it equally targets the interaction of Eezham Tamils in the island. It is a master strategy of international imperialist dimensions to keep the genocide-facing Eezham Tamils shackled and submissive. While the Eezham Tamils in India can’t travel outside as they are kept as ‘refugees’ for decades, the target is now the free diaspora in the West, Tamil activists for alternative politics said.

Military minds would fail if righteous political wills not respected

[TamilNet, Monday, 29 September 2014, 06:26 GMT]
“India suspicious as Chinese submarine docks in Sri Lanka,” said a headline of a news report in Times of India on Sunday. The report cited New Delhi’s Navy Chief saying that the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) “is our area of operations.” However, the TOI report illustrated the military weakness of India compared to China in budget, armed forces, submarines, warships, fighter jets and tanks, and added that, “insiders fear India’s already stark military asymmetry with China only seems to be expanding all the time.” Military minds and media minds in India fail to see that the foremost of the weaknesses of India in the IOR is not military asymmetry but New Delhi’s loss of credibility with the peoples of the region inside and outside, commented Tamil activists for alternative politics in Eezham.

Powers may have double talk but those who struggle should not

[TamilNet, Thursday, 11 September 2014, 16:32 GMT]
"I am convinced that if Ukraine solved its domestic problems without the use of armed forces, without the bloodshed there over the past month, without the use of heavy artillery... this tragedy would not have happened," said Russian defence minister Sergei Shoigu to visiting Malaysian defence minister Hishammuddin Hussein on Wednesday, while discussing MH 17 investigation. Whether Russia would speak in the same line and would advise its BRICS partners, especially New Delhi, to take the line in the investigation on the crimes of Sri Lanka and in the decades long militarised genocide against Eezham Tamils is what world humanity wishes to know, said Tamil activists for alternative politics in the island.
