Political fundamentals cannot be surrendered to military requisites of imperialism

[TamilNet, Saturday, 30 August 2014, 15:33 GMT]
Five years of actual ground experience of Eezham Tamils since the Vanni War ending in genocide, is nothing but the thorough and accelerated militarisation of their land by the Sinhala military, carried out with active patronage coming from New Delhi, Washington and Beijing. Militarisation of this nature, that too by a historically proven genocidal State and by its military, is perhaps the most important reason, why the military-less nation of Eezham Tamils can’t expect any political solution working within a united island and that they should seek independence. Eezham Tamil individuals and forums in the diaspora hijacked by imperialisms of militaristic interest should think twice before telling that Tamils have given up the claim for their country.

‘Hindutva’ needs edification from South

[TamilNet, Monday, 25 August 2014, 09:00 GMT]
The New Delhi Establishment has to be made to realise that it has touched a wrong nerve on the national question of Eezham Tamils, in the name of its ‘national interests’. If the BJP’s stand is going to be the ‘majority State’ formula in India and in upholding genocidal Sri Lanka, the boundaries of both created by the British whom the BJP condemns otherwise, it is time for the peoples of India to prove who is the real majority and who has the real people’s power– whether the power-centric mobilisation harping on ‘Hindutva’ or others. If the Tamils, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Lingayats (Veera Saivas), Dalits, Tribals and peoples of Northeast States join together, the picture would be totally different.

TNPF leader speaks on independent, concerted, Tamil foreign policy

[TamilNet, Sunday, 24 August 2014, 02:32 GMT]
0Realising that our struggle has long been used by powers in their engagements with the island, we as a nation must work towards a concerted foreign policy, although we don’t have State, said Tamil National People’s Front (TNPF) leader Mr. Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam in an interview to TamilNet on Saturday. In meeting the challenge of achieving this, we should incorporate Tamil Nadu in creating a power centre in a geopolitical sense and the dynamics will change very quickly. Compared to the Congress, the BJP is little bit more blunt and more strident in containing the nationalist nature of the struggle. This is the carrot to the Sri Lankan State and the TNA is a co-partner. The TNPF leader argued for a breakthrough by addressing the situation in three ways.

13-A hoodwink continues under BJP New Delhi

[TamilNet, Saturday, 23 August 2014, 22:41 GMT]
The 27 year-old treacherous deceit of the New Delhi Establishment, committed on the nation of Eezham Tamils in the name of implementing the 13 Amendment of the unitary constitution of genocidal Sri Lanka, continues under Narendra Modi’s regime, with an ultimate aim of completing the genocide and structural genocide in the island, commented Tamil activists for alternative politics in the island, responding to the outcome of TNA-Modi meeting that took place in New Delhi on Saturaday. What is privately and separately said to Rajapaksa or TNA doesn’t count at all. What actually takes place on the ground tells what is in the agenda, the activists further said.

Peoples of India should see real danger coming from Swamy polity

[TamilNet, Thursday, 21 August 2014, 15:33 GMT]
0The genre of Subramanian Swamies, ostracized by mainstream Tamils and politically orphaned in Tamil Nadu, try to settle score with their own people by making their local bias and paranoia to influence all-India policy, unjustly affecting the immediately neighbouring nation of Eezham Tamils. This is the real danger for entire India in the long run. Peoples of India, especially the peoples of North India should realise the impending danger coming from this genre of individuals, who threaten India’s national interests by causing disintegration in the South and by marring India’s image in the eyes of world humanity, commented Tamil activists for alternative politics in the island.

Majority Tamil Councillors from North, East request OHCHR to investigate genocide

[TamilNet, Monday, 18 August 2014, 07:36 GMT]
“Tamil people strongly believe that they have been, and continue to be subjected to Genocide by Sri Lanka […] Systematic Sinhalese settlements and demographic changes with the intent to destroy the Tamil Nation are taking place. We request the OHCHR investigative team to look into the pattern of all the atrocities against the Tamil people, and to determine if Genocide has taken place,” states a joint letter by the majority of the Northern Provincial Council (NPC) and Tamil opposition councillors form the Eastern Provincial Council (EPC). 28 elected Eezham Tamil councillors from the 38-member Northern Provincial Council (NPC) and 5 of 11 opposition Tamil National Alliance members from the Eastern Provincial Council (EPC) have sent the letter to United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Navaneetham Pillay on Monday.

BJP’s bypass ‘geopolitics’

[TamilNet, Sunday, 03 August 2014, 19:03 GMT]
New Delhi’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comes out with a comical ‘geopolitics’ bypassing India’s own Tamil Nadu State and the nation of Eezham Tamils at the closest proximity, to build a ‘Ram Sethu’ to genocidal Sri Lanka, and in that process concedes to the total annihilation of the nation and territoriality of Eezham Tamils. Even though the inroads of China and Pakistan are cited as usual, and now added with citation of US interference as well, the DNA of the thinking of New Delhi and some of its South Indian articulators on the question of Tamils has to be carefully understood by all Tamils. There is no alternative to Tamils proving their geopolitical strength in all justifiable ways possible.

Vaiko condemns BJP’s ‘poisonous’ nexus with genocidal Sri Lanka

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 29 July 2014, 18:01 GMT]
The General Secretary of MDMK, Mr Vaiko, on Tuesday condemned Indian participation at an annual military conference organized by genocidal Sri Lanka in August. The annual 'Defence Seminar' is conceived by the SL State as a gimmick venue to market its military corporatism project to the external forces under the banner of geo-strategic location of the island. Mr Vaiko has described Indian participation as ‘unpardonable‘, according to a news report by the Press Trust of India (PTI). The BJP government's move to participate in the seminar comes after it rejected entry to the members of the UN panel appointed by UN Human Rights Commission (UNHRC) head Navanethem Pillay to conduct an inquiry into alleged war crimes and human rights violations by the SL government and its military forces.

Struggle against genocidal military land-grab intensifies in Jaffna

[TamilNet, Monday, 21 July 2014, 16:51 GMT]
0Survey department officials who were accompanied by the Sri Lankan police to survey lands of Eezham Tamils for permanent seizure by the occupying SL military at Achchuveali, situated in Valikaamam East of Jaffna district, were forced to withdraw after their vehicle was blockaded by the Tamil land owners with the support of Tamil political and civil activists in a successful protest for second time within a few days on Monday. The SL military, which has occupied the lands belonging to the Multi Purpose Cooperative Society (MPCS) and 9 families for two decades since the SL military captured Jaffna peninsula from Eezham Tamils in 1995, is now trying to establish a cantonment for the 5th Infantry Regiment on Rasa Road close to Achchuveali town.

BJP regime provides ‘benami’ economic benefits to genocidal Sri Lanka

[TamilNet, Saturday, 12 July 2014, 08:53 GMT]
Completely ignoring the unanimous demand of the Tamil Nadu assembly for India to boycot commercial ties with genocidal Sri Lanka, the Indian Minister of External Affairs, Ms Sushma Swaraj, has strengthened New Delhi’s ties with Colombo by promoting a $1bn garment-manufacturing town for Sri Lanka’s Garments Export industry in Visakhapatnam, a military cum strategic harbour city in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The project will be serving the US and British corporate giants in the garment market such as Victoria’s Secret (USA), Hanes (USA) Tommy Hilfiger (USA), Nike (USA), Gap (USA), Marks & Spencer (UK) and Next (UK) circumventing any moral objection related to genocidal Sri Lanka. Establishment centric Indian media was highlighting the case as employment to 60,000 people in India while activists in Tamil Nadu were preparing their response to the latest move by the BJP government.

Terracotta artefacts of folk culture found in Mullaiththeevu

[TamilNet, Friday, 11 July 2014, 23:51 GMT]
Human and animal figures in terracotta found at Chinna-poovarasang-ku'lamA large number of terracotta images and other artefacts in sherds were found at an agricultural land in Chinna-Poovarasang-ku’lam in the Mullaiththeevu district of the country of Eezham Tamils this week. The villagers handed over the artefacts found in the private land to occupying Sri Lanka’s ‘Government Agent’ in Vavuniyaa, who in turn deposited them at the local museum in Vavuniyaa. However, occupying Sri Lanka’s military intelligence was after everyone involved in the discovery as well as the site, sources in the district told TamilNet. Meanwhile, some Tamil inscriptions have recently been found at Padaviya in the Anuradhapura district, but their contents and the present whereabouts of the stone slabs are now unknown, academic sources said.

[TamilNet, Monday, 07 July 2014, 10:58 GMT]
Following an urgent hearing of an application from refugee advocates in Australia, the High Court in Austrlia has refused to allow the Australian Government to hand over the 153 Eezham Tamil refugees to Sri Lankan authorities, delivering an interim injunction until Tuesday afternoon, news reports from Australia said Monday. The latest development comes following a controversial move by the Australian authorities that handed over 41 asylum seekers back to the Sri Lankan military after the so-called processing of their asylum applications at the sea.

Australia PM Abbott praises genocidal Sri Lanka as "society at peace"

[TamilNet, Friday, 04 July 2014, 23:17 GMT]
Even as apprehensions are rising regarding reports that the Australian government has handed over 153 Tamil refugees to the Sri Lanka Navy, Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott has praised Sri Lanka, the island where a structural, protracted genocide is happening against the Eezham Tamil nation, as a "society at peace". Speaking to 3AW on Thursday, Abbott had further said that "there has been a lot of progress when it comes to human rights and the rule of law in Sri Lanka.'' However, the Tamil Refugee Council has said that at least 11 of the fleeing refugees had been tortured by the GoSL forces earlier. The Australian government, which had no concerns for the thousands of Eezham Tamils who were slaughtered in 2009 and ignored the plight of more than 146,000 Eezham Tamils reported missing, is determined to return the 153 refugees despite widespread criticism against the move.

In a letter addressed to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, the Chief Minister questioned whether this affidavit had been prepared by the earlier UPA regime, and further reiterated her demand for the retrieval of Katchatheevu.

Intellectual failure continues helping genocidal Sri Lanka in twisting case

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 02 July 2014, 23:48 GMT]
0The failure of international intellectuals preoccupied with Middle East, Latin America and Russia, in spelling out and highlighting the singular and precarious civilizational paradigm that is currently experimented by world imperialisms through the genocidal State of Sri Lanka, continues to help the ‘eel-diplomacy’ of the State in justifying itself and the agenda of its imperial masters, commented Tamil activists for alternative politics in the island, responding to a recent article by Noam Chomsky. The article by Chomsky this week effectively exposes the US imperialism, but absence of exposure of the ‘Sri Lanka’ model help the State to put on ‘nationalist’ garb to smokescreen the genocidal engineering of imperialism in a paradigm-setting part of the world, the activists said.

Isaippiriyaa remembered in Tamil Nadu as icon of Tamil resistance

[TamilNet, Friday, 27 June 2014, 23:19 GMT]
Activists across Tamil Nadu gathered at the city of Mathurai on the occasion of 'International Day in Support of Victims of Torture' on Thursday, paying tribute to slain LTTE media specialist Shoba alias Isaippiriyaa and thousands like her, who faced torture, abuse and death at the hands of Colombo’s genocidal military. Condemning the section of personalities within the UN and the international Establishments for their complicity in Tamil genocide, the Tamil Nadu activists further asserted that a sovereign Tamil Eelam alone was the remedy for the injustice and crimes committed against Eezham Tamils.
