Violations and violence in BJP-New Delhi bringing Gandhi statues

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 27 December 2016, 23:49 GMT]
0SL Police in Mullaiththeevu has been investigating four Tamil youth, who have recently shared messages criticising controversial erection of Gandhi and Buddha statues in the country of Eezham Tamils. The questioning by the occupying Sinhala police in Mullaiththeevu has come after a Gandhi statue, hurriedly put up in front of the District Secretariat a few days ago, was pulled down by unknown actors in the early hours of Monday. “The controversial erection of the statue, yet to be declared open, has actually taken place violating the procedures of the local government and the people having freedom of expression without instigating violence or be involved with the incident of pulling down this unknown statue are now being investigated by the police,” said Northern Provincial Councillor Thurairajah Ravikaran.

Consulate General of India in Jaffna has brought tens of Gandhi statues that are to be erected at several localities in the five districts of Northern Province, informed sources in Jaffna told TamilNet on Thursday. When some people involved in the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi were released in the 1970s after serving a life-term, the supporters of the RSS and Shiv Sena paraded them in the streets of Poona in Maharashtra in India.

Resettled Sinhala farmers oppose genocidal colonisation of Tamil village in Mannaar

[TamilNet, Monday, 19 December 2016, 22:25 GMT]
028 Sinhala families, who displaced from Ko'ndaichchi Cashew farm to Anuradhapura in 1990 due to the war and resettled back in the Ko'ndaichchi farm in the predominant Tamil-speaking division of Musali during the regime of Rajapaksa, are also opposing the latest Sinhala colonisation moves that are being spearheaded by the occupying SL Navy in Paasith-then'ral village coming under the GS area of Ko'ndaichchi. The fertile lands, owned by Eezham Tamils and Tamil-speaking Muslims with land deeds going back to almost 100-years-old from the times of British rule, are now being taken over silently by the occupying SL Navy, which has put up a naval base right in front of Paasith-then'ral tank after seizing the area from the de-facto administration of the LTTE in 2007.

Colombo intensifies military surveillance on Eezham Tamils

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 13 December 2016, 22:23 GMT]
The occupying military establishment of genocidal Sri Lanka has tightened its military intelligence grip on Eezham Tamils deploying various tactics within the last few days in Batticaloa, Trincomalee, Mullaiththeevu, Ki’linochchi, Jaffna and Mannaar, according to reports coming from all the corners of the occupied country of Eezham Tamils. Fresh deployments of so-called ‘Special Task Force’ commandos, a full-fledged combat military administratively coming under SL Police has been silently moved into several locations in the Jaffna peninsula ‘integrating’ SL military intelligence in a sophisticated manner. Families associated with LTTE in past face constant threats from Colombo’s Intel squads

[TamilNet, Sunday, 04 December 2016, 18:00 GMT]
Intelligence operatives of the occupying Sinhala military of genocidal Sri Lanka have not yielded from brutally suppressing Eezham Tamils who were earlier associated with the Tamil freedom movement and its civil infrastructure. The SL military, police and their intelligence outfits continue to harass those who are not willing to become their stooges in the occupied country of Eezham Tamils. People who politely decline to collaborate are threatened with planted evidence such as narcotics. On 29 November, a 47-year-old mother of four, whose husband was a former Tamil Eelam Police officer, narrated her experience to the so-called ‘National Peace Council’, a Colombo-based peace group, how her family was being threatened by the military squads. At a meeting held in Jaffna, retired Judge L. Vasanthasenan was almost ‘cross-examining’ the traumatized woman on behalf of the Colombo-based outfit.

Tamil village confronting demographic genocide remembers victims of 1984 massacre in Vanni

[TamilNet, Friday, 02 December 2016, 23:32 GMT]
0The Tamil village of Othiyamalai, situated in Odduchuddaan Division of Mullaiththeevu district, is unable to confront the demographic-genocide taking place at the moment as SL President Maithiripala Sirisena is targeting to Sinhalicise the village and settle Sinhala colonisers linking the village with already Sinhalicised Ma’nal-aa’ru (Weli-Oya). More than 110 Tmail families were living in the village before they were subjected to a brutal massacre on December 02, 1984, in which 32 males were slain by the SL military. Only around 50 families have managed to resettle in 2012 and they have been remembering their slain family members each year at the rural society building, where the massacre took place.

Impunity shown on genocidal Sri Lanka emboldens Myanmar

[TamilNet, Monday, 28 November 2016, 19:00 GMT]
Persecution against the Rohingya ethnicity in Myanmar reaches the stage of genocide, report several international agencies. There is a strong connection between denial of genocide, abandonment of international investigation and leniency shown on any kind of investigation at all on the international community abetted crimes in genocidal Sri Lanka and what is now happening in Myanmar, Tamil political observers in Jaffna commented. Theravada Buddhism and military is the paradigm in both the places; regimes are backed by the same elements and often application of same models in both the countries to resolve the national question is often advocated in the so-called international community. Another country that is affected by the crisis due to refugee influx is Bangladesh.

Self-mobilised people pay homage to Eezham Tamil Heroes

[TamilNet, Sunday, 27 November 2016, 14:23 GMT]
0The families and relatives of Tamil Eelam war heroes spontaneously mobilised themselves in collectively remembering their loved ones on the Heroes Day on Sunday in Vanni. The self-mobilisation, without any political force behind them, was highly emotional at Muzhangkaavil and Kanakapuram Maaveerar Thuyilum Illams (Heroes Cemeteries) in Ki'linochchi district, at Vanni-vi'laangku'lam in Mullaiththeevu, and at Pa'ndi-virichchaan and Aa'ndaang-ku'lam in Mannaar district, political observers in Vanni said. The people decorated the destroyed memorial stones with red and yellow pieces of clothes. Apart from the collective remembrance at the Heroes Cemeteries that were razed to the ground by the occupying Sinhala military, Eezham Tamils remembered their heroes by lighting flames of sacrifice at school grounds and by tolling temple bells across the occupied country of Eezham Tamils.

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 15 November 2016, 23:01 GMT]
The Weli-oya division in the Mullaith-theevu district of the Northern Province, created for the exclusive purpose of Sinhalicisation of a strategic piece of Tamil Land in order to wedge the North from the East, is silently being further extended into Vavuniyaa North division by Maithiripala Sirisena's regime, informed civil officials in Vavuniyaa told TamilNet on Tuesday. Sampanthan-led Tamil National Alliance and Wigneswaran-led Northern Provincial Council have completely failed to address the major demographic change taking place at border between the Northern, Eastern and North-Western provinces, the Tamil officials in Vavuniyaa commented. Sirisena's demographic genocide deprives Tamils of livelihood in strategic coastal village of Vanni

[TamilNet, Sunday, 13 November 2016, 23:41 GMT]
Sinhala colonists in Ma'nal-aa'ru have robbed more than 200 cattle that belong to resettled Eezham Tamils in Kokkuththoduvaay, a strategically situated coastal village in Karai-thu'raip-pattu division of Mullaiththeevu district within the past two months, according to civil sources in Karai-thu'raip-pattu division. SL President Maithiripala Sirisena's ‘Mahaweli’ Ministry has been backing the Sinhala colonists at various locations in the belt of the Ma’nal- aa’ru stream at the tri-junction of North, North Central and Eastern Provinces. The motive of Colombo is to demographically de-link the contiguity of the Northern and Eastern Provinces. ‘System L’ of Mahaweli project targets the fertile areas in Mullaiththeevu while ‘System B’, the largest of the current projects under the Mahaweli scheme, aims to seize the resourceful interior lands of Batticaloa district.

Genocidal plunderers auction vehicles seized from Tamils, millions of rupees with no transparency

[TamilNet, Saturday, 12 November 2016, 22:21 GMT]
The occupying military of genocidal Sri Lanka has conducted a series of auctions in Vanni to sell vehicles seized from the Tamil people and their fighters during the genocidal onslaught on Eezham Tamils in 2009. One of the latest ‘secret’ auctions has taken place within the last 6 months and the transactions involve multi-million rupees, civil sources at Mullaiththeevu District Secretariat told TamilNet this week. There was no transparency on how the auction was conducted and the transactions involved in it, they said. While more than 900 Tamil vehicle owners, who were uprooted several times during the onslaught and who were incarcerated in barbed-wire camps in Menik Farm are blatantly refused any insurance coverage, the occupying military of genocidal Sri Lanka is still cashing in on auctioning seized vehicles even after 7 years.
