Mahesh Senanayake, the commander of the occupying Army of the unitary State of genocidal Sri Lanka, was ‘reminding’ the families of uprooted people that the SL military was in a position to take back whatever being released to the public. Mahesh Senanayake told the recipients of 25 houses, which were built by the SL military at the so-called ‘Village of Reconciliation’ (Nalli'nakka-puram) on Friday that it was the duty of the recipients of the housing scheme to bring up their children without recourse to a bitter war as in the past. Otherwise, the military was in a position to take back what it was giving, he said. When the Tamil interpreter was reluctant to translate the intimidating statement, he repeated the message to the translator, making sure his warning gets translated from Sinhala to Tamil to the target audience. The Sinhala administration of the CCB office in Batticaloa and its Paasikkudaa Garden management have moved on to appoint Sinhala workers to the positions of the permanent cadre after successfully evicting the Tamil workers from the garden. Only two of the positions have gone to a Tamil and a Tamil-spaking Muslim. The Sinhala officials have stepped up harassments on the Tamil workers since 2015 with the hidden agenda of evicting them from the Model Garden. A co-worker, who was previously a military soldier, was also deployed against them, the Tamil workers who have quit their jobs told TamilNet on Friday. Taking part in UN Human Rights Council session, she released a report, with details composed by Tamil-speaking Muslims in the North on the recent anti-Muslim pogrom waged by extremist Sinhala Buddhist organisations and a section of Buddhist monks in the Central Province as well as in the Ampaa'rai district of Eastern Province. Wigneswaran in an interview to TamilNet on Friday. The same tendency was also witnessed in the anti-Tamil pogroms of the past, and it is the wrong attitude on the part of the Sinhala politicians that has been contributing to the pogroms in the island. The SL leaders are displaying the same attitude with regards to the war crimes investigations, he said. “Only if there is a foreign input into the process of investigations, we might be able to bring about an attitudinal change on the part of the government and the majority community. Nothing will come out of a local inquiry,” he said. HLM Hanifa warned that the next wave of the pogrom, which he predicted after a future island-wide elections, would be more intense and destructive than what shocked the Central Province and Ampaa'rai in the Eastern Province this time. Both of the veteran grassroots activists underlined the urgent need for unity among Eezham Tamils and Tamil-speaking Muslims in the North-East, and they were highly sceptical to the exploitative attitudes prevailing among the political elites among the Tamil-speaking Muslims. There is no truth in the claim,” K.M. Nilam Niyaz, one of the two Muslim councillors recently elected to Jaffna Municipal Council, told TamilNet on Sunday. “As you are aware, the military is trying to exploit the situation to its advantage politically. Tamils and Muslims should not allow them to be deceived by this propaganda. Instead, they should stand united as Tamil-speaking people like they did before 1990. All the ethnicities in the island should live in peace and harmony,” the 47-year-old Tamil-speaking Muslim politician commented further. It is not a shocking development, especially when the global powers competing for geo-strategic access to the island in the Indian Ocean are determined to uphold the genocidal paradigm through sustaining impunity for the unitary State. It is under the prevailing State impunity, the ‘Sinhala Only’ attitude, which manifested as an Act in the late 50s now taken an extreme form of imposing ‘uniformity’ from the southernmost Dondra point in the Sinhala country to the northernmost Chakkoadai cape in the occupied Tamil country, in every aspect of life. The Central Bank is deploying the provisions of the Financial Transactions Reporting Act, No. 6 of 2006 (FTRA), which was gazetted by the former regime of Mahinda Rajapaksa, for financial surveillance on Eezham Tamils, both in the homeland and in the Diaspora. The Central Bank of the unitary State system has become another Colombo-centric authority to wage structural genocide against Eezham Tamils with a sophisticated global network as well as sharing intelligence and surveillance with the military and police of the genocidal State.
