Around 300 war-affected families from the five districts of North who have been resettled at 2nd Mile Post (Ira'ndaam-kaddai) from Madu Road junction along the road to the Holy Shrine of Madu complain of harassments coming from various departments under the central ministries of occupying Colombo, the Sinhala police, particularly the STF and the military intelligence of genocidal Sri Lanka. Sinhala colony schemed with expansion of Buddha temple at Punaa'nai, Batticaloa

[TamilNet, Friday, 19 January 2018, 22:24 GMT]
A small worship place with a Buddha statue, which was left behind by the occupying Army of genocidal Sri Lanka in 2016, has now been expanded into a big Buddhist temple establishment at 121st Mile Post on Colombo - Batticaloa Road in Punaa'nai East in Koa'ra'laip-pattu North (Vaakarai) division. The expansion has taken place in an accelerated phase in December 2017. The jungle area without any civilian settlement has been selected for Sinhala colonisation and the Buddhist vihara establishment has become the anchoring point, Tamil civil sources in Batticaloa North said. In the meantime, more than 150 Sinhala families have been settled near Punaa'nai Railway station three years ago. The settlement near the railway station was also commenced with the establishment of a similar Buddhist vihara.

[TamilNet, Thursday, 18 January 2018, 21:42 GMT]
Vinyagamoorthy Muralitharan alias Karuna, a paramilitary leader who has been collaborating with the Rajapaksa regime in the past, is again deploying violence and various intimidations, now against a section of dairy farmers from Chiththaa'ndi in Batticaloa district. In an attempt to woo voters for his political party from his native village of Kiraan, he is grabbing public and forest lands to convert these into agricultural lands for farmers, who had distanced from him since his betrayal to the Tamil cause in 2004. Paramilitary personnel carrying weapons have shot and killed cows belonging to Chiththaa'ndi farmers who are using the disputed area as pastureland for their cattle. 200 acres of lands have already been seized at Paalaik-kaaddu-veddai, which is situated close to Mayilaththamadu in Koa'ra'laip-pattu South division.

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 17 January 2018, 20:45 GMT]
The occupying Sinhala Navy has renovated 300 huts in Naayaa'ru in Karaithu'raip-pattu division for the use of encroaching Sinhala fishermen from South. Jeya, the chairman of the fisheries federation in the district. The intruding Sinhala fishermen were staying from January/February to September last year and were engaged in fishing along the entire coast of Karaithu'raippattu division and Naayaa’ru lagoon.

Sinhala Buddhicisation stepped up in Kumpu'rup-piddi of Trincomalee North

[TamilNet, Monday, 15 January 2018, 22:48 GMT]
The Divisional Secretary of Kuchcahve'li administrative division in the North of Trincomalee district has come under pressure—direct harassment as an informed civil source described it—from the SL Presidential Secretariat in Colombo this week. The harassment is meted out on Mr P Thaneswaran after he had questioned the legality of intruding Sinhala Buddhist monks, who fenced off a public bareland at Kumpu'rup-piddi East on 02 January. Kumpu'rup-piddi, a traditional coastal Tamil village with findings of pre-Christian pottery sites, probably from protohistoric period, has been subjected to systematic Sinhala Buddhicisation as well as corporate exploitation by the occupying Sinhala State, especially after the genocidal war on Vanni in 2009.

Occupying SL Navy fences off temple of village deity near Villuk-ku’lam in Champoor

[TamilNet, Friday, 12 January 2018, 22:19 GMT]
The occupying Sinhala Navy of genocidal Sri Lanka has recently fenced off the temple of the village deity of Aathi (ancient) Vairavar, which is located near Champoor in Moothoor East of Trincomalee district. A few months ago, when the SL Navy was seizing more lands surrounding the naval training base of ‘SLNS Vidura’, the temple was left outside the ‘military zone’ for civilian access. But, in recent weeks, the SL Navy has moved on to absorb the Vairavar temple into military zone, according to the management of Champoor Vinaayakar Sana Samooka Nilayam, a local library in the area. The latest move also confirms the theory that the SL Navy was behind causing the recent controversy of so-called archaeological reserve of ‘Anuradhapura period’ Buddha stupa at Choodaik-kudaa in the nearby village of Kooniththeevu, where Eezham Tamils were having a village deity for at least 7 generations.

Occupying Sinhala military steals contracts, employment from Tamils in North

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 09 January 2018, 21:24 GMT]
Lt Gen Mahesh Senanayake, the present commander of the occupying Sinhala Army of genocidal Sri Lanka is trying justify the overwhelming presence of the SL soldiers in the country of Eezham Tamils by claiming that one third of the soldiers were being deployed for construction work in civil sector. But, in reality, the Sinhala military is stealing the contracts from the firms of Tamils and is depriving Tamils of their employment. Ultimately, the SL military has seized the control of the entire market in the Tamil homeland from farming to construction, civil officials in Jaffna said. On the one hand, the unitary SL State is suppressing the Northern Provincial Council without allocating required funds for necessary development and rehabilitation work of the war-affected province, but on the other hand, it is waging a propaganda against the NPC as being inefficient, they further commented.

SL Navy behind causing temple controversy at Kooniththeevu

[TamilNet, Saturday, 06 January 2018, 23:06 GMT]
Without having established anything scientifically and without even officially declaring anything through a Gazette notification, the SL Archaeology Department, which relies upon manipulations, extremist views, occupying Sinhala military and the ‘Buddhism foremost’ clauses of the unitary constitution, managed to build a false paradigm of an imaginative ‘stupa’ as having existed at the hill-top of Maththa'la-malai at the locality of Choodaik-kudaa in Kooniththeevu GS division of Moothoor East, Trincomalee. Basicially, the entire falsehood has been based on the utterances coming from the chief monk of Seruwila Mangala Raja Maha Viharaya, Munhene Mettarama thero. The Seruwila monk is someone who has been closely working with the occupying Sinhala Navy in Champoor, a well-informed source in Trincomalee told TamilNet on Saturday.

Genocidal Colombo does not even spare traditional food court of Eezham Tamils

[TamilNet, Saturday, 30 December 2017, 22:26 GMT]
Ammaachchi at Vavuniyaa“Ammaachchi” was the name chosen by Northern Provincial Council's Ministry of Agriculture for a concept of traditional restaurant. The United Nations Development Programme financially assisted the initiative, which was launched in Vavuniyaa under the previous minister Mr P. Aingaranesan. The food court became a success earning a good reputation. The kitchen, driven by grassroots women groups, has been promoting war-affected women with livelihood opportunities and was serving traditional Tamil cuisine at affordable price and good quality. Soon, the concept was expanded to Ki'linochchi. However, when a similar NPC initiative was to be launched at Thirunelveali in Jaffna at the initiative of the same NPC ministry, Colombo based unitary system, preoccupied with the genocidal idea of ‘uniform Sri Lanka’, has been insisting upon naming the restaurant with its Sinhala counterpart, Hela Bojun.

Colombo has nothing else than deception, where is last remedy, ask families of enforced disappeared

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 26 December 2017, 21:06 GMT]
The entire Colombo state system and the SL President Maithiripala Sirisena, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the occupying military, have only come up with deceptions instead of doing anything meaningful to trace the whereabouts of those subjected to enforced disappearances at the hands of the SL military and its paramilitaries. At this juncture, what is the last remedy and from where we should seek answers, asks Mrs Amalaraj Amalanayaki, one of around 4,000 families from Batticaloa district searching for their loved ones. In its latest deception, the Colombo establishment has deployed ‘Economic Development Officers’ with ‘English Only’ forms, in which the people are asked to put their signatures leaving the remaining work to the EDO officials, she said referring to a data-collection that has been issued by the so-called Office of the Missing Persons (OMP).

But, some of the intruders seem to be fishermen who are having a business relationship with the occupying military, the people say.

SL Eastern Governor should publicly apologies for his wife's hate crime against Tamil devotees

[TamilNet, Sunday, 24 December 2017, 22:04 GMT]
The wife of Sinhala colonial Governor to East, Mrs Deepthi Bogollagama, on Friday desecrated the temple of village deities Kaa'li, Murukan and Vairavar worshipped by resettled Eezham Tamils at the hill-top of Maththa'la-malai in Kooniththeevu, a traditional Tamil village located near Champoor in Moothoor division of Trincomalee. While even the Sinhala police constables, accompanying the couple on an official visit, had removed their footwear before walking into the temple premises, the wife of SL Governor behaved in a desecrating manner. After being reminded by the Tamil female devotees, she started to verbally attack the devotees with a hostile body language and issued an open threat in Sinahala: “tamuselā okkomalāṭa denavā vẹḍē,” (තමුසෙලා ඔක්කොමලාට දෙනවා වැඩේ), which could mean anything from ‘you all would be dealt with trouble’ to collective death threat.
