EU external relations commissioner to meet LTTE

Political stability necessary for talks - Pirapaharan

LTTE restores Heroes cemeteries for November ceremony

Heroes cemeteries in Tharavai in Batticaloa district and Vakarai Kandaladi are being renovated in preparation for the Heroes day ('Maaveerar Naal') celebrations to take place on the 27th November. The branch of the Ceylon Tamil Teachers Union (CTTU) in Mullaithivu Wednesday evening urged the leader of the Liberation Tigers, Mr. Velupillai Pirapaharan, to secure an interim administration for the northeast ‘without giving up even in least measure’ the Tamil nation’s sovereignty.’ In a memorandum addressed to the LTTE leader, the Mullaithivu CTTU said: “Law and order should be under the interim administration to safeguard our sovereignty."

SLA arrests two Pt. Pedro MPCS workers

Pedro, Jaffna Monday morning for having in their possession two copies of the tenth anniversary volume of the Charles Anthony Brigade, the first conventional military formation of the Liberation Tigers. The Pt. Pedro MPCS is located inside part of the town centre garrisoned by the SLA’s 52-4 Brigade.
