Colombo schemes Sinhala-Buddhicisation of Tamil heritage site in Vavuniyaa North

[TamilNet, Sunday, 19 August 2018, 21:33 GMT]
0The occupying unitary state of genocidal Sri Lanka has prohibited Eezham Tamils at Oldu-madu village in Vavuniyaa North from accessing 157-meter-high hill called Vedukku-naa'ri. The issue became a hot topic on 10 August, a day before the annual religious ritual of Aadi Amaavaasai (the new moon of the Tamil month July-August) observed in remembrance of the ancestors by the Saivites (Hindus). The SL Police blocked the Poosaari (non-Brahmin priest) of the village-deity, based on a complaint made by the SL Archaeology Department on 07 August. The SL Police has instructed Poosari and the villagers to keep away from the hilltop. Only after the repeated pleas, they were allowed to access their temple once on 11 August. Now, they have to face heritage genocide on their own, V. Poobalasingam, a grassroots leader in Olu-madu told TamilNet.

Arson attack in Naayaa'ru by intruding Sinhala fishers causes 5 million in damage

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 14 August 2018, 08:03 GMT]
0The associations of Eezham Tamil fishermen in Naayaa'ru in Mullaiththevu have tentatively estimated the property damage caused by the arson attack carried out by the intruding Sinhala poachers Monday night into 5 million rupees. The representatives of the fisheries associations said they had restrained the Tamil fishermen, who are provoked by the violent act, which seems to be a premeditated one. The attack has come in the aftermath of the assurances made by SL Minister of Fisheries Wijith Wijayamuni Zoysa that his ministry would revoke the licenses of the intruding fishermen from the outside districts. If he fails to implement his promise, the situation would be out of control beyond, they said.

New Delhis' suppression of Tamil Nadu equally detrimental as geopolitics of West

[TamilNet, Saturday, 11 August 2018, 23:34 GMT]
The latest happenings in the quasi-federal state of Tamil Nadu in India, need to be perused in a broader historical context, grasping the ever-raging conflict between the Centre being the dominating New Delhi Establishment and Tamil Nadu. The oppressed people of Tamil Nadu have been unable to strike power of balance with it, argues Norway-based Eezham Tamil anthropology academic Athithan Jayapalan in a recent paper. The underlying hegemony has also been one of the significant impediments to finding a confederal or, at the least a federal, solution to the national question of Eezham Tamils in the island situated along the southern tip of India. The New Delhi Establishment is adamantly upholding the unitary character of the genocidal state of Sri Lanka, even at the cost of its national security, and it has no qualms in sacrificing the self-determination and sovereignty of Eezham Tamils.

Jaffna Fort belongs to SL military, proclaims Commander of genocidal Sri Lanka

[TamilNet, Thursday, 02 August 2018, 10:55 GMT]
“When you say it is a fortress, it is military,” proclaimed Lt Gen Mahesh Senanayake, the commander of the occupying military of genocidal Sri Lanka, who made a special appearance to make his point at the Fort of Jaffna on Wednesday. Currently, only 11 SLA personnel are stationed inside the premises, and that too under the cover of giving protection to the archaeological excavation site. However, Mahesh Senanayake dubbed the latest move to re-militarize the Jaffna Fort as a ‘battalion change’. The controversy comes as the British archaeologists and their funders abroad as well as the government of the Netherlands doing colonial-heritage reconstruction and geopolitics-driven archaeology at the Jaffna Fort in collaboration with the unitary State at a heightened paradigm of the cultural, developmental, educational, heritage and structural genocide against the nation of Eezham Tamils.

The occupying Sinhala Army of genocidal Sri Lanka indiscriminately massacred more than 130 Eezham Tamils in Moothoor East in Trincomalee district on 07th and 08th of July in 1990, launching a so-called cordon and search operation. The people of Champoor and other villages commemorate the massacre victims every year. Last year, they marked the event on 07 July at the presence of TNA Parliamentarian K Thurairatnesingham putting up a basic structure in remembrance of those who perished. This year, the SL Police informed the people on Friday that it has prohibited the memorial event, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday. 0A surviving staff reporter of the Eezha-naatham daily, one of the few media to directly witness the last phase of the genocidal war in Vanni, released this week a set of photos and video clips from one of the digital cameras used by an Eezham Tamil humanitarian worker during the final days of the onslaught in 2009. Apart from serving the purpose of documenting the genocide, the material would also be useful to the kith and kin of the victims who perished in the onslaught and to those who are searching for their loved ones, says Suren Karthikesu, the journalist who is exiled in Vancouver, Canada. TamilNet brings the material to the public domain with the warning that some of the photos would be too upsetting to the viewers.

Champoor Tamils experience trauma as Colombo trains marine forces in occupied Moothoor East

[TamilNet, Sunday, 01 July 2018, 10:20 GMT]
The occupying navy of genocidal Sri Lanka deployed its marine commandos in a convoy of 45 vehicles, including 15 armoured cars, in one of the biggest training exercises to be traumatically experienced by the resettled Eezham Tamils in Moothoor East of Trincomalee district on Friday. The war-affected families, especially the elder-generation among them, were caught in trauma due to the roaming vehicles and the live firing, which reminded them of the times of genocidal onslaught in 2007. The political observers in the East ask the question for whom the marine force is getting prepared at the physical and psychological expense of war-affected Eezham Tamils of Moothoor East.

SL Army continues to rob material remains of houses before releasing Valikaamam lands

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 25 April 2018, 22:13 GMT]
The occupying Army of genocidal Sri Lanka makes it a routine to rob the remaining roof tiles, wooden door and window frames off of their houses every time it releases a pocket of land to the uprooted people of Valikaamam in Jaffna. The stolen material is transported into the military zones fenced away for civilian access. Also this time, a widespread pattern of robbing of structures has been witnessed by the people, who are preparing to resettle near the coast of Mayiliddi. In the meantime, the SL Resettlement Ministry is set to channel 830 millions of rupees of foreign aid to the SL military for further consolidation of military bases in the name of releasing lands. The people who get their lands are also left with the burden of cleaning the jungles. The SL authorities have no concern for the infrastructure of the resettlement.

NPC Minister walks out as SL Governor ditches CM's recommendations on SLAS transfers

[TamilNet, Friday, 20 April 2018, 22:26 GMT]
The occupying unitary state of genocidal Sri Lanka is bent on curbing the powerless Northern Provincial Council from carrying out its work through deploying the colonial Governor, who is controlling the army of SLAS officials serving the NPC in various positions. Be it a military governor or a civilian governor — regardless of the person being Sinhala Catholic or Tamil-speaking — it is the role of the SL Governor coming under the direct control of Colombo, which is causing headache to the elected Chief Minister who want to exercise the powers vested in him. The Tamil criticism target the underlying paradigm, commented Tamil political activists in Jaffna after witnessing the recent administrative disputes taking place between Justice C.V. Wigneswaran and Reginald Cooray, the SL Governor to North.

Colombo schemes new type of subservient CSD colonies in Jaffna diverting foreign aid

[TamilNet, Saturday, 14 April 2018, 23:19 GMT]
The occupying military of genocidal Sri Lanka has released 683 acres of coastal pockets of lands in Mayiliddi of Valikaamam North with propaganda it has also opened the coastal road from Point Pedro to Punnaalai for public use. Although the release of the pockets of lands as well as improved access to the coast for uprooted Tamil fishers is seen as a step in the right direction, the SL military is retaining the entire area as a sophisticated military zone, say representatives of uprooted people from Valikaamam North. These are merely pockets of civilian settlements surrounded by SL Army and Navy bases and heavy military presence. The military wants to be in possession of crucial resources and all the fertile lands while aiming to transform the resettling people into its subservient workforce, Tamil rights activists in Jaffna said.

[TamilNet, Sunday, 08 April 2018, 23:28 GMT]

The NPC Education Minister characterised the military operation of pre-schools as a serious crime on the part of the SL Defence Ministry and the SL Government. They are upbringing the [Tamil] children under their [Sinhala] military culture, discipline, philosophy and thoughts, he said.

Mahesh Senanayake, the commander of the occupying Army of the unitary State of genocidal Sri Lanka, was ‘reminding’ the families of uprooted people that the SL military was in a position to take back whatever being released to the public. Otherwise, the military was in a position to take back what it was giving, he said. When the Tamil interpreter was reluctant to translate the intimidating statement, he repeated the message to the translator, making sure his warning gets translated from Sinhala to Tamil to the target audience.

Sinhala colony schemed with expansion of Buddha temple at Punaa'nai, Batticaloa

[TamilNet, Friday, 19 January 2018, 22:24 GMT]
A small worship place with a Buddha statue, which was left behind by the occupying Army of genocidal Sri Lanka in 2016, has now been expanded into a big Buddhist temple establishment at 121st Mile Post on Colombo - Batticaloa Road in Punaa'nai East in Koa'ra'laip-pattu North (Vaakarai) division. The expansion has taken place in an accelerated phase in December 2017. The jungle area without any civilian settlement has been selected for Sinhala colonisation and the Buddhist vihara establishment has become the anchoring point, Tamil civil sources in Batticaloa North said. In the meantime, more than 150 Sinhala families have been settled near Punaa'nai Railway station three years ago. The settlement near the railway station was also commenced with the establishment of a similar Buddhist vihara.

Occupying SL Navy fences off temple of village deity near Villuk-ku’lam in Champoor

[TamilNet, Friday, 12 January 2018, 22:19 GMT]
The occupying Sinhala Navy of genocidal Sri Lanka has recently fenced off the temple of the village deity of Aathi (ancient) Vairavar, which is located near Champoor in Moothoor East of Trincomalee district. A few months ago, when the SL Navy was seizing more lands surrounding the naval training base of ‘SLNS Vidura’, the temple was left outside the ‘military zone’ for civilian access. But, in recent weeks, the SL Navy has moved on to absorb the Vairavar temple into military zone, according to the management of Champoor Vinaayakar Sana Samooka Nilayam, a local library in the area. The latest move also confirms the theory that the SL Navy was behind causing the recent controversy of so-called archaeological reserve of ‘Anuradhapura period’ Buddha stupa at Choodaik-kudaa in the nearby village of Kooniththeevu, where Eezham Tamils were having a village deity for at least 7 generations.

Occupying Sinhala military steals contracts, employment from Tamils in North

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 09 January 2018, 21:24 GMT]
Lt Gen Mahesh Senanayake, the present commander of the occupying Sinhala Army of genocidal Sri Lanka is trying justify the overwhelming presence of the SL soldiers in the country of Eezham Tamils by claiming that one third of the soldiers were being deployed for construction work in civil sector. But, in reality, the Sinhala military is stealing the contracts from the firms of Tamils and is depriving Tamils of their employment. Ultimately, the SL military has seized the control of the entire market in the Tamil homeland from farming to construction, civil officials in Jaffna said. On the one hand, the unitary SL State is suppressing the Northern Provincial Council without allocating required funds for necessary development and rehabilitation work of the war-affected province, but on the other hand, it is waging a propaganda against the NPC as being inefficient, they further commented.
