Eight Tigers killed - SLA

SLA sources in Vavuniya said today that they killed eight members of the Liberation Tigers in a round up in Apparkaani in Olumadu yesterday around midnight. Olumadu is an interior village, 4 km. east of strategic Mankulam junction, on the Mankulam-Mullaitheevu road.

The Liberation Tigers announced in the Wanni this evening that the Sri Lankan Army launched a three pronged offensive from it's positions in Olumadu and Moondumuripu in the early hours of the morning today. They said that they counter attacked the SLA's advance and that there was fierce fighting from morning 5 a.m. to 12 noon.

Tigers loose five in sea battle

The Liberation Tigers announced this evening in the Vanni that five Sea Tigers including two Black Sea Tigers were killed in a seven hour long sea battle with the Sri Lankan Navy (SLN) last night. They said that the fighting had taken place in the seas between the Trincomalee harbour and Kokkilai and that ten Israeli built Dvora Fast Attack Craft (FAC) of the SLN had taken part in the battle.
