[TamilNet, Sunday, 28 May 2017, 23:30 GMT]
System B of Mahaweli scheme targets demographic genocide of Eezham TamilsNine years have elapsed since the end of war in East. Still, the occupying military of genocidal Sri Lanka is controlling freedom of movement in the interior north-western hinterland of Batticaloa district, which is known as Paduvaan-karai. The SL Army personnel manning a check post at Kiraan Bridge are refusing entry to civilian vehicles at random. The Community Based Organisations and Non-Governmental Organisations visiting the area are being redirected to Welikanda military base (Polonnaruwa district) with the instruction to secure permission to their entry into Paduvaan-karai in Batticaloa with a pass document. Around 5,000 Tamil families live in the area which comes under Koa'ra'laip-pattu South (Kiraan) division.

Tamil Eelam mural at Belfast“Ireland and the Irish are no strangers to State oppression [...] Over 70000 Tamils were killed during the final phase of the last war [...] The World [establishments], in some instances, encouraged it,” said Joe Austin, the president of the National Graves association at the Mu'l'livaaykkaal Remembrance Day in the north of Ireland on Friday. He was addressing a workshop participated by Irish activists, Eezham Tamil survivors of genocide such as Tamilvani who was featured in the documentaries by the Channel 4 and exiled Sinhala activists. Rev Fr M V E Ravichandran, a civil society activist from Jaffna, also participated in the event. Sinn Féin politician Pat Sheehan said people should not look at the conflict in Ireland through the prism of colonialism. The conflict in Ireland is about Colonialism, he said. Professor Jude Lal explained how the Colonialism formed the genocidal SL State.

Occupying Colombo blocks memorial event at Mu'l'livaaykkaal

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 17 May 2017, 23:10 GMT]
0The judiciary of occupying Colombo has blocked a peaceful memorial event, which was being organized by St. Paul’s Church at Mu’l’livaaykkaal East. The SL Police subjected the priest of the church, Fr. Elil Rajendram, who is also a civil activist, to prolonged interrogation on Tuesday night at the instigation of the military intelligence of the SL military. The Jesuit priest has been targeted for his long involvement in the criticism of local investigations, informed civil sources told TamilNet. The memorial event to be held on 18 May was only targeting to have 800 memorial stones engraved with the names of Tamil civilians who perished in the genocidal onslaught. The interim order issued by the SL court in Mullaiththeevu said the move could be seen as harming ‘integrity’, ‘national security’ and ‘peace’ of the ‘country’.

Remembering Mu’l’livaaykkaal in proper context: Professor Jude Lal Fernando

[TamilNet, Monday, 15 May 2017, 23:15 GMT]
0Martin McGuinnes, the former first minister of Northern Ireland (2007 – 2017), who was previously the chief Negotiator of Sinn Féin, which has been the political wing of the Irish Republican Army (IRA), in 2006 travelled to Colombo and Ki’linochchi. At Ki’linochchi, he openly stated that the EU leaders had committed a huge mistake by proscribing the LTTE. The EU ban harmed the parity of status in the talks and paved the way for genocidal onslaught. Professor Jude Lal Fernando of Trinity College, Dublin, an exiled Sinhala activist who has been actively engaged in seeking global justice to Tamil genocide said the idea to mark Mu’l’livaaykkaal Remembrance in the north of Ireland this year was conceived with due respect to the parity of status promoted by the Irish during the peace process between the LTTE and the Colombo government in 2006.

US Bandwagon gets further exposed on Myanmar alignment amidst Rohingya genocide

[TamilNet, Saturday, 13 May 2017, 23:22 GMT]
The UN Special Rapporteur on human rights in Myanmar, Ms Yanghee Lee, announced in the UNHRC at Geneva on 13 March that the Burmese state was involved in Crimes against Humanity directed towards the Rohingya people. The rapporteur has further said that the institutional persecution “indicates the government may be trying to expel the Rohingya population from the country altogether” and she demanded an international level probe. Nobel peace prize winner Aung San Sung Kyi, who is the de facto leader of Myanmar government has refuted the UN report, and announced that an internal investigation is suffice to look into allegations. The USA, the EU and the UK have avoided taking a stand on the investigations and are apparently backing Myanmar to evade international pressure due to their geopolitical interests.

From ‘grease devils’ to ‘peace devils’, genocdial military's new shadow war against Tamils

[TamilNet, Sunday, 02 April 2017, 23:28 GMT]
0The occupying Sinhala soldiers, deployed in surveillance against Eezham Tamils and the SL police providing judicial armour to the military, have again started to respond with violence against Tamils in villages where the people have mobilised demanding de-militarisation and answers from the SL State and its international backers on the whereabouts of their loved ones subjected to enforced disappearances. Two violent incidents have shaken the Tamil people in Vadamaraadchi East. In the meantime, the Sinhala military which posed as ‘grease devils’ in 2011 is now deploying ‘UN white-washed’ genocidal tanks staging patrols and exercises threatening Tamils. Eezham Tamils have now started to grasp the political and military dimensions of an international order that has been consistently backing the physical and structural genocide against them, commented Tamil activists in Vanni.

Handover investigations to international judicial mechanism, NPC tells Geneva

[TamilNet, Friday, 17 March 2017, 09:26 GMT]
While the uprooted people and the families of enforced disappeared in Trincomalee, Vavuniyaa, Mullaiththeevu, Ki'linochchi and Jaffna are staging continuous protests demanding the UN human rights regime in Geneva not to provide any more ‘time and space’ for the genocidal SL State and its military to escape accountability on international crimes committed in the land of Eezham Tamils, the elected council of Northern Province passed a resolution echoing the feelings of the people on the ground and urged the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva to refer the case to an international judicial mechanism. “[W]ithout truth, justice and an equitable political solution, neither reconciliation nor permanent peace is possible”, the NPC resolution said and said that the international community should initiate a UN-mediated negotiation process to resolve the national question.

Uprooted people of 5 coastal villages in Jaffna issue 4 weeks ultimatum to Colombo

[TamilNet, Saturday, 11 March 2017, 22:21 GMT]
Three senior leaders of the newly launched ‘Five Villages Development Joint Committee’, representing 6,000 families from Kaangkeasan-thu'rai, Oo'ra'ni, Mayiliddi, Thaiyiddi and Palaali, the five coastal villages that have been subjected to military occupation and complete annihilation of civilian infrastructure during the past 27-years, declared this week that their organiastion would launch a mass struggle. They have issued 4 weeks of ultimatum to SL President to respond to their appeal. If there is no positive response to their final appeal, they would undertake a relentless mass struggle until full resettlement, said veteran rights activist Vijayaratnam Ratnarasah, who has been involved in trade union, civic bodies and a convenor of one of the first citizens’ committees in the Tamil homeland since 1960.

Credibility of UNHRC at stake, say 21 Tamil civil groups in North East

[TamilNet, Thursday, 09 March 2017, 23:40 GMT]
“It has thus become very clear that the co-sponsorship of Resolution 30/1 was an attempt to divert the UN Human Rights Council’s attention away from Sri Lanka,” said 21 civil groups and political parties in a statement issued on Thursday on the ‘USA Sri Lanka’ Consensus Resolution that scuttled Tamil demand for international investigations two years ago at Geneva-based UN Human Rights Council. “Sri Lanka’s subsequent behaviour following their co-sponsorship of Resolution 30/1 we believe threatens the credibility of the UN Human Rights Council,” the carefully worded statement of the civil society groups said. Escalation and not de-escalation of pressure on the Government is the real contribution that the international community can make towards enhancing the human rights situation in the North-East of Sri Lanka, the statement further said.

Tamil protest targets embassies in Colombo, demands ultimatum at Geneva

[TamilNet, Monday, 27 February 2017, 23:02 GMT]
0Voice for North-East Enforced Disappeared (VNEED), a recently launched organisaton by the families of persons subjected to enforced disappearance at the hands of the occupying Sinhala military on Monday travelled to Colombo and staged protests outside the embassy of USA, High Commissions of India and the UK, and the UN office in Colombo. Giving more time and space to Sri Lankan State at the Human Rights Council in Geneva will only worsen the structural genocide in the North-East, they said. The international community should realise the futile exercise of expecting results from Colombo through a co-sponsored process, which has gravely failed to de-militarise the North-East since the joint USA-Sri Lanka resolution was passed in September 2015, they said.

Chemical weapon in KLIA and cluster bomb in Vanni

[TamilNet, Saturday, 25 February 2017, 22:20 GMT]
AFP reports on Friday, citing Malaysian Police, indicated that the North Korean leader’s estranged half brother was assassinated at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) with a lethal nerve agent called VX, manufactured for chemical warfare and listed by the UN as a weapon of mass destruction. As the question comes how the chemical weapon came to Malaysia, AFP cited ‘Sri Lankan’ Terrorism Professor Rohan Gunaratna stationed in Singapore saying that North Korea has previously used diplomatic pouches to smuggle items. The IC, its media and terrorism research outfits, miserably failing in international investigation on how the cluster bomb had reached genocidal Sri Lanka and was deployed against Tamil civilian masses herded into a zone in Vanni in a war upheld by a bandwagon, could only make a poor show on the current crime committed at KLIA, commented Tamil political observers.

Resettled government servants in Champoor complain of ethnic discrimination

[TamilNet, Sunday, 12 February 2017, 23:07 GMT]
176 public servants, who are among the resettled Eezham Tamils in Champoor, are being systematically discriminated in the provision of governmental and non-governmental assistance for their resettlement after being uprooted from their own lands in Champoor. From Colombo's UNP-influenced administrative hierarchy to the Tamil-speaking Divisional Secretary of Moothoor, the entire administrative mechanism of the unitary state of genocidal Sri Lanka has been operating against the resettled Champoor Tamils. While the structural discrimination has been institutionalized in the ‘Sri Lankan’ system, the officials of the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) have also not been able to assist the people cutting the red tape of the anti-Tamil establishment operating against the resettled Tamils in Champoor.

UN still failing on paradigm-setting ‘Sri Lanka’ reports on Myanmar

[TamilNet, Thursday, 09 February 2017, 23:50 GMT]
Those who commit genocide, and those who set genocide a paradigm for their ‘International Community’ global order, would never agree that genocide exists. There is no point in expecting Washington, London, New Delhi, Beijing and Moscow to accept the genocide they had committed on Eezham Tamils. But then, the same sin and the continued experiments on it in genocidal Sri Lanka are now excuses for not calling what is happening in Myanmar as genocide. The Office of the High Commissioner of United Nations Human Rights has come out with a report on Rohingya in Myanmar last Friday. What the report brings to light is only a fraction of re-enactment of what genocidal Sri Lanka was allowed to do and being allowed to do at the bid of the international culprits as well as the UN. The UN would only contributing to world anarchy if the hub of the paradigm is not targeted.

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 08 February 2017, 23:04 GMT]
Kaangkeasanthu'rai, Palaali1,650 acres of additional lands are to be permanently seized from the uprooted Tamils in Valikaam North to expand the runway of Palaali airport, which has been militarized and used by the three forces of the occupying Sinhala military. The Defence Ministry of genocidal Sri Lanka has sketched out a new plan to expand the runway of the Palaali airport. Earlier, New Delhi has been providing financial assistance to the expansion of the runway and was projecting the assistance as a move to upgrade the airport into an international airport. Later, the scope of the project was limited. The airport continues to be under the direct control of the SL military, which is now planning to proceed with further expansion, informed civil sources in Jaffna District Secretariat told TamilNet on Wednesday.

Structural genocide against Tamil fishermen reaches all-time high in Mullaiththeevu

[TamilNet, Monday, 23 January 2017, 23:38 GMT]
The structural genocide being waged by the Colombo Establishment, particularly against the Eezham Tamil fishermen in Mullaiththeevu district, has reached an all-time high in the history of the district, says Mariyathas Anthonipillai, the chairman of the Federation of Fisheries Associations in the district, told TamilNet on Monday. More than 50% of the coastal stretch with access to fish has been taken over by the intruding fishermen from South. “If the SL Fisheries Ministry gives permission to put up 20 different sites along Mullaiththeevu coast for fishermen from South, the intruders go to the extent of putting vaadis at 80 places. The native fishermen are not even allowed to have their huts at one single place between Nallatha'n'nith-thoduvaay in the north of the district to Kokkuth-thoduvaay and Mukaththuvaaram in the south of the district,” Mr Mariyathas said.

Colombo resumes abduction-styled arrests of former LTTE members

[TamilNet, Sunday, 22 January 2017, 23:16 GMT]
The so-called ‘Terrorist’ Investigation Division (TID) of genocidal Sri Lanka has silently resumed abduction-styled ‘arrests’ in Ki'linochchi district in January 2017, according to informed legal sources in the district. Two men, wearing civilian clothes entered the house of 32-year-old Murugiah Thavaventhan on Wilson Road in Thiruvai-aa'ru in the Karaichchi division of Ki'linochchi district on 15 January and took the former member of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), almost 7 years after he was re-united with his family in March 2010. Legal sources providing assistance to the family said Mr Thavaventhan was being detained by the TID at Vavuniyaa and that the family was not given a valid reason for his detention. Similarly, another ex-LTTE member, 37-year-old Kulendran Karalasingham, who is also from the same area, has been detained by the notorious TID at his working place.

Resettled Sinhala farmers oppose genocidal colonisation of Tamil village in Mannaar

[TamilNet, Monday, 19 December 2016, 22:25 GMT]
028 Sinhala families, who displaced from Ko'ndaichchi Cashew farm to Anuradhapura in 1990 due to the war and resettled back in the Ko'ndaichchi farm in the predominant Tamil-speaking division of Musali during the regime of Rajapaksa, are also opposing the latest Sinhala colonisation moves that are being spearheaded by the occupying SL Navy in Paasith-then'ral village coming under the GS area of Ko'ndaichchi. The fertile lands, owned by Eezham Tamils and Tamil-speaking Muslims with land deeds going back to almost 100-years-old from the times of British rule, are now being taken over silently by the occupying SL Navy, which has put up a naval base right in front of Paasith-then'ral tank after seizing the area from the de-facto administration of the LTTE in 2007.
