[TamilNet, Tuesday, 15 January 2013, 20:52 GMT]
0Members of Front Line Socialist Party (FLSP), a breakaway faction of the JVP of the Sinhala South, who were seeking end of SL military rule over Tamils, land grab and abductions, as well as release of all political prisoners and Jaffna University student leaders were attacked publicly in the heart of Jaffna city, allegedly by SL military intelligence squads on Tuesday. The political faction from the South, under the banner, Sama Urimai Iyakkam in Tamil (Movement for Equal Rights) was engaged in a signature campaign among the Tamil public when motorbike squads attacked them and threw crude oil on to them in the typical way the SL military intelligence used to carry out attacks on Tamil activists in Jaffna.

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 02 January 2013, 02:29 GMT]
Suresh SriskandarajahTwo naturalized Canadian citizens of Eezham Tamil origin, Suresh Sriskandarajah and Piratheepan Nadarajah, plead not guilty to charges on providing material assistance to the now defunct Liberation Tigers when both were arraigned Thursday last week in the District Court of the Eastern District of New York (EDNY), after a six year battle in Canada fighting extradition, legal sources in New York said. The defendants lost a constitutional challenge in the Canadian Supreme Court when the Court ruled that Canada’s terrorism laws did not infringe on the defendants constitutional rights and that the Canadian Justice Minister's order to surrender the defendants to the United States was legal.

Colombo hatches new strategies in genocidal war, sidelines EPDP

[TamilNet, Monday, 10 December 2012, 11:10 GMT]
One of the new strategies of Colombo in waging its on-going genocidal war against Eezham Tamils is tagging spontaneous uprisings resulting from its genocide in the island as linked to ‘diaspora terrorism’. Colombo’s strategy is nothing but a manifestation of the attitude of the guilt-filled International Community of Establishments (ICE) and its groups, outfits etc., that see the diaspora as their enemy and attempt to silence the diaspora opinion by projecting it as ‘linked’ to ‘terrorism,’ political observers in the island said. Meanwhile, Colombo now sidelines the EPDP and cultivates its own collaborators in the North, the observers further said, citing many recent developments. ‘Use and dump’ will not stop with Karuna, Pillaiyaan and Douglas, but would proceed even to those who were long recruited for the agenda of the ICE, the observers further commented.

[TamilNet, Monday, 05 November 2012, 14:33 GMT]
Rajapaksa regime this week has approved new diplomatic appointments to generals conducted the genocidal war in the island. Conspicuously, they will be representing the regime in a new set of Establishments. People are usually named for such assignments not without prior consent by the concerned countries. Earlier the UN, some Western countries, Japan and Australia have received war-crimes-accused SL generals as diplomats.

Colombo opts for anti-Tamil campaign to handle constitutional case

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 17 October 2012, 12:31 GMT]
The petitioners of a constitutional case against the ‘Divineguma’ Bill that will snatch away even grassroot development and social welfare powers of the provinces in genocidal Sri Lanka are currently targeted through a Sinhala poster campaign of ‘counterinsurgency’ style that collectively names the petitioners as ‘Paikiasothy Gang’ aiming ‘separation of the country’. The Centre for Policy Alternatives (CPA), headed by Colombo-based Tamil, Dr. Paikiasothy Saravanamuttu, in a statement on Tuesday hinted at the connection between the posters and Sri Lanka Army coming for ‘investigations’ of the Centre on Monday. The SL Supreme Court on Monday decided for a separate hearing of the case filed by the TNA and has fixed it to next Monday, while four more writ petitions challenging the bill will be taken up for hearing by the court on Thursday.

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 03 October 2012, 23:47 GMT]

The head of the Murukan temple administration at Changkaman-ka'ndi in Thirukkoayil, Mr. Nakalingam, on Wednesday said that the SL military personnel who had come from Kaagnchirang-kudaa military base instructed the temple administration to immediately stop the renovation work being undertaken at the temple. NESoHR book on Tamil massacres prior to 2009 published in German

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 02 October 2012, 23:21 GMT]
0A compilation of large-scale massacres from 1956 to 2008, brought out by the North East Secretariat on Human Rights (NESoHR), has been translated to German. The book, “Damit wir nicht vergessen” will be launched at Frankfurt Book Fair this month. The publication has an important historical dimension as it presents the massacres prior to 2009 genocidal onslaught in a historical dimension, says Emeritus Professor Peter Schalk in Uppsala, Sweden, sending an introductory note to TamilNet. “In a shortened time perspective those violations of human rights [in 2009] may appears as an occasional and random deviation of a particular Government of Sri Lanka or as committed by individual offenders. We have good reasons to assume that this massacre by the government represents a planned cultural and physical genocide over a long time,” he further says adding that a Chinese translation is desirable.

0When people of Mullaiththeevu for the first time in last three years gathered in hundreds in front of the district secretariat on Friday, to demand resettlement in their village at Keappaa-pulavu in the district, the occupying Sinhala military deployed in large numbers responded with intimidation of taking videos of the demonstrators and by arranging a gang to throw human excretion at them. Self-immolation protestor dies, anti-Rajapaksa agitations intensify in Tamil Nadu

[TamilNet, Wednesday, 19 September 2012, 01:38 GMT]
26-year old auto driver Vijayaraj from Salem in Tamil Nadu, who immolated himself on Monday early morning protesting Mahinda Rajapaksa’s visit to India, succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday noon. A follower of Periyaar, member of CITU, and a supporter of the Tamil Eelam cause, Vijayaraj, despite being in his death bed, insisted on talking to media at the hospital that Rajapaksa should not be allowed into India. I did it, because Tamils in unison should rise up against the Indian government that welcomes Rajapaksa even after seeing the heroic sacrifices, he was cited by Tamil media Nakkeeran. Agitations intensify in Tamil Nadu, while the BJP Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivaraj Singh Chauhan, claims that Rajapaksa’s visit to Sanchi to inaugurate a Buddhist University is ‘apolitical’.

Tamil Nadu CM reiterates demand to send SL military personnel out

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 28 August 2012, 17:24 GMT]
0The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms. J. Jayalalithaa on Tuesday reiterated her demand to immediately halt training to Sri Lanka’s defence personnel at the Wellington base in Tamil Nadu and send them back to Sri Lanka. She expressed surprise about her earlier demand being responded with an open declaration by New Delhi to continue training to Sri Lanka’s military personnel in India, on grounds that Sri Lanka is a friendly country. “This betrays the total insensitivity on the part of the Government of India towards the views of my Government as well as the sentiments of the people of Tamil Nadu,” she said in an official letter addressed to the Indian Prime Minister, adding that the Government of India should give up “condemnable attitude.”

New Delhi’s insistence on training Sri Lanka military highly deplorable: CPI

[TamilNet, Tuesday, 28 August 2012, 14:31 GMT]
The National Secretary of the Communist Party of India, Mr. D. Raja on Monday condemned Indian Minister of State for Defence, Mr MM Pallam Raju’s insistence on training Sri Lanka’s military in India as “highly deplorable.” The junior minister for defence, responding to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s opposition to the training, had said that India would continue to train Sri Lankan defence personnel at its establishments. "The statement is highly deplorable and this position has to be reviewed. The Chief Minister of the state [Tamil Nadu] has raised the issue, but the Government continues with the training in the name of bilateral ties," the CPI Secretary was cited by Outlook India.

Indian people would get democracy voice only when India severs Lanka relations

[TamilNet, Monday, 27 August 2012, 07:39 GMT]
0An instruction from the New Delhi establishment’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) sent to the TESO organisers on 11 August shows that peoples of India cannot have a democratic voice on the question of Eezham Tamils unless India severs diplomatic relations with Sri Lanka. While retracting from its earlier ban on the use of the word Eelam, the MEA letter ‘advised’ the TESO to “ensure that the conference does not issue any declaration or outcome that calls into question in any manner the sovereignty, territorial integrity and unity of any foreign country with whom India has diplomatic relations.” This is a serious curb on the universal democratic rights of the peoples of India. Why the TESO organisers who picked on Ms Jayalalithaa didn’t condemn New Delhi for this violation and for not giving visa to many participants, critics in Chennai asked.

Village, jungle adjacent to Mu’l’livaaykkaal grabbed for Sinhala militarisation

[TamilNet, Sunday, 19 August 2012, 01:27 GMT]
02,500 acres of land by the side of the Nanthik-kadal lagoon, comprising of the village Keappaa-pulavu and nearby jungle, where the last stages of the Vanni war was fought and prohibited weapons were allegedly used against the LTTE by the genocidal Sinhala military, is now permanently grabbed for use of the occupying military, news sources in Vanni said. The grabbed land in Mullaiththeevu district is divided between Sri Lanka’s Army and Air Force and the original villagers of 700 families detained from resettling are forced to accept lands away from their village. After the TESO conference last week, The Hindu, using an interview of Dr. Wikremabahu Karunaratne, tried to soft-pedal the issue of the annihilation of territorial sovereignty of the nation of Eezham Tamils as a mere “Move to gift Tamil resources to MNCs.”

The resolutions of the conference demanded action on the war criminals in the island and removal of Sri Lankan military from the territories of Tamils. The resolutions also demanded immediate removal of the Sinhalese forcefully colonised in Tamil Eelam and in Tamil territories. Gagged Tamil leadership fumbles on telling truth

[TamilNet, Saturday, 11 August 2012, 23:32 GMT]
Eezham Tamil political leaders in the island refused of visa by the New Delhi establishment to participate the TESO conference convened by the DMK chief Mr. Karunanidhi, fumble on telling the truth. Instead of letting the world know that they were unable to do justice to the democratic struggle of Eezham Tamils due to New Delhi and Colombo jointly gagging them, they surrender by simply saying that they had cancelled their participation considering circumstances, commented new generation Tamil political activists in the island. The Sinhala politician, Dr. Wikramabahu Karunaratne is honest in bringing out the circumstances to media. Three years ago, Mr. Karunanidhi in the hands of New Delhi was accused of dishonesty and betrayal. Whether the Eezham Tamil leadership is in his shoes now, the activists asked.

Unholy agenda of New Delhi, Colombo, continues unchecked

[TamilNet, Friday, 10 August 2012, 21:20 GMT]
During the Vanni War, every visit of New Delhi operatives to Colombo was followed by escalation in genocide. The pattern continues unabated after the war that every Indian visit would follow with further economic inroads into the island, exchanged for Colombo’s bailout and confirmation of its militarisation and structural genocide of the country of Eezham Tamils. The latest example is the ‘economic’ mission of Anand Sharma followed by the visit of Shiv Shankar Menon. While New Delhi deceives gullible Tamils that ‘economic integration’ would resolve the national question, genocidal Colombo prioritises the annihilation of the nation of Eezham Tamils, to outsmart India later. As only a collective Tamil Nadu could blast the vicious circle, TESO has to be orientated and accommodated appropriately by all concerned, said Tamil activists in the island.

[TamilNet, Friday, 10 August 2012, 04:38 GMT]
Just one working day left for the commencement of the TESO conference convened by the DMK chief Mr. M. Karunanidhi in Tamil Nadu, the Eezham Tamil political leaders of the TNA and TNPF were yet to be given with visa by the Indian High Commission in Colombo, news sources in the island said. Mr. Sampanthan and Mr. Maavai Senadhiraja told news sources that the DMK chief had personally talked to them over the phone in extending invitation and they had agreed to go. However, sources close to them said that besides not getting the visa, the TNA leaders are heavily pressurized to stay away. TNPF leaders said that they would go if the visa is issued. Mr. Mano Ganeshan cancelled the visit after not getting the visa. Dr. Vikramabahu Karunaratne’s visa was rejected, but he was later told to resubmit the passport. Visa is yet to be decided for him.

New Delhi infringes into historical and cultural rights of Eezham Tamils

[TamilNet, Thursday, 09 August 2012, 17:17 GMT]
Letter from the Indian External Affairs MinistryBy officially announcing a ban on the word “Eezham,” New Delhi establishment’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) infringes into the historical and cultural identity of a people outside of its jurisdiction, accused Eezham Tamil civil groups in the island and in the diaspora, responding to an official instruction of the MEA dated 9 August 2012, sent to TESO organisers in Chennai that “Eelam may be dropped from the title of the conference” for MEA clearance of approval. Whether New Delhi has already started thinking that the island is part of its empire and the Eezham Tamils are its ‘conquered’ people to impose orders on the identity of another people, asked the enraged civil activists. Meanwhile, New Delhi’s foreign missions sabotage giving visa to Eezham Tamils attending the TESO conference, news sources from several countries said.
