ISGA proposals indicate a constructive approach - NPC

Noting "a great deal of effort has gone into formulating the proposals with the assistance of both local and international expertise and is indicative of a serious approach to dialogue and to the peace process", the National Peace Council (NPC), a Colombo based Sri Lankan peace group, in a media release issued in Colombo today said that "the LTTE has given concrete form to its expectations in a manner that is essentially compatible with peaceful coexistence in a united Sri Lanka".

Documentary Video on Women Tigers released

A documentary video production labelled Akkini Paravaikal ('Volcanic Birds') depicting the evolutionary growth of the women tiger movement, including the early experiences in the battle field, training methods used and social difficulties faced by fighters within the conservative Tamil society, was released in Kilinochchi at 5pm Saturday, LTTE sources in Vanni said.

Tigers release proposal for Interim Self Governing Authority

0The Interim Self Governing Authority (ISGA) proposed by the Liberation Tigers will have plenary power for the governance of the northeast, including powers in relation to resettlement , rehabilitation, reconstruction and development, raising revenue, law and order, and over land, according to the LTTE document released on Saturday. The ISGA will continue until a final settlement to Sri Lanka's ethnic conflict is reached and implemented, according to the document.
